Publication number: 20070206791Abstract: The security of image data is enhanced by utilizing operation keys used in performing image processing and by generating an apparatus-specific encryption key to encrypt the image data with the encryption key. Generation of the encryption key is started when an input is made with a specific operation key. Every input made by operating an operation key on an operation panel is converted into a key code corresponding to that operation key. After sequential repetitions of this process, the key input is finished when an input is made with the specific operation key. The key codes are arranged in the order of operation to generate a key code string, the arrangement of which is then converted. The encryption key is generated based on the key code string.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2007Publication date: September 6, 2007Applicant: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yuji Okamoto, Naofumi Ueda, Tsutomu Yoshimoto, Syoichiro Yoshiura

Publication number: 20070206754Abstract: The present invention provides a transmission apparatus and method which realize a redial function and prevents the leakage of transmission information to the outside by inhibiting the display of the information including a destination to which retransmission is made, when it is determined that a predetermined condition is satisfied, whereby security can be enhanced. When the transmission of image data is not completed, a control section performs a retransmission process for transmitting again the image data to the same destination with the use of the redial function, and counts the number of times of the transmission. The control section determines whether the number of times of the transmission is greater than a predetermined value or not. When the number of times of the transmission is greater than the predetermined value, the control section reports a transmission error and deletes the information including the destination.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 2007Publication date: September 6, 2007Applicant: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Suehiro Ueda, Syoichiro Yoshiura, Tsutomu Yoshimoto

Publication number: 20060222380Abstract: Copy discouraging information which is used for prohibiting or discouraging copying of image information is formed so that it can be positively recognized by a copy machine. The copy discouraging information which is used for prohibiting or discouraging copying is printed so that the number, position and shape of the items of the copy discouraging information are made different depending upon the importance degree of the image information to be printed. If the image information has, for example, a relatively higher importance degree, a plurality of items of the copy discouraging information are printed in the inner sides and in the vicinity of four sides of recording paper. When someone tries to copy this recording paper by the copy machine, presence of the copy discouraging information can be immediately recognized in the copy machine regardless of the scanning direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2006Publication date: October 5, 2006Applicant: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yohichi Shimazawa, Syoichiro Yoshiura, Tsutomu Yoshimoto

Publication number: 20060187495Abstract: When a user transmits data from a PC to the outside, log information can be accumulated in a composite machine connected via network to the PC and an unnecessary data outflow due to the data transmission can be prevented. In the PC, a transmission acceptance portion accepts from a user an operation for transmitting data to the outside of network and a data transfer portion transfers outside transmission data defined as a transmission target by the transmission acceptance portion to the composite machine via the network without transmitting directly to the outside. In the image forming apparatus (composite machine, etc.), a data reception portion receives the outside transmission data transmitted from the PC via the network, which are transmitted to the outside by a data transmission portion, and a log accumulation portion accumulates log information of the outside transmission data.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2006Publication date: August 24, 2006Applicant: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Suehiro Ueda, Syoichiro Yoshiura, Tsutomu Yoshimoto

Publication number: 20060182477Abstract: An image forming apparatus of the present invention carries out an image processing with respect to a sheet size based on a print request and image information based on the print request, so as to obtain a write image on a photoreceptor. On the basis of a printing ratio of the write image obtained by the image processing, the image forming apparatus predicts the occurrence of an image elongation. If the image forming apparatus predicts that the image elongation occurs, the image forming apparatus calculates a bending amount of a bended portion on the basis of the difference between the peripheral velocity of a photoreceptor and the peripheral velocity of the idle roller, and the image forming apparatus variably controls the peripheral velocity of an idle roller so that the bending amount calculated is adjusted so as not to cause a slip phenomenon.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 16, 2006Publication date: August 17, 2006Inventors: Toshiki Takiguchi, Tatsuya Inoue, Kouji Wakamoto, Tsutomu Yoshimoto, Syoichiro Yoshiura

Patent number: 7071960Abstract: Electron generating devices and LED arrays are arranged in a surrounding area of a photosensitive drum. The electron generating devices are located downstream of a cleaner and upstream of a developing unit with respect to a turning direction of the photosensitive drum with a specific gap between the electron generating devices and a surface of the photosensitive drum. The LED arrays are disposed against outer ends of the electron generating devices opposite to inner ends thereof facing the photosensitive drum. When activated by a driving circuit according to image information, individual LED elements of the LED arrays emit light, causing the electron generating devices to emit electrons in a pattern corresponding to the image information. The electrons emitted from the electron generating devices produce more electrons due to an electron avalanche phenomenon before reaching the photosensitive drum, eventually forming an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photosensitive drum.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2004Date of Patent: July 4, 2006Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kiyoshi Toizumi, Taisuke Kamimura, Toshimitsu Gotoh, Tsutomu Yoshimoto, Yasuhiro Takai
