  • Patent number: 8254675
Abstract: A white-balance imaging apparatus includes a first gradation converting unit performing gradation conversion depending on each pixel value of an original image, a second gradation converting unit performing gradation conversion based on pixel values within a predetermined range from each pixel of the original image, a selecting unit selecting a gradation conversion mode, and a determining unit determining second gradation conversion parameters for use by the second gradation converting unit, according to the selected gradation conversion mode, and determining at least one of first gradation conversion parameters for use by the first gradation converting unit and an exposure amount in an exposure amount adjusting part which can adjust the exposure amount, according to the selected gradation conversion mode. Therefore, it is possible to correct the dark area gradation of an image while maintaining brightness of the whole image, and to realize preferable gradation conversion.

  • Patent number: 6445886
Abstract: A device includes a photometry element for photometrically measuring object light while dividing the object light into a plurality of color components, and an exposure controller for calculating an exposure control value on the basis of a plurality of photometry outputs corresponding to the color components from the photometry element. In the device, the photometry element divides object light into a plurality of color components, e.g., R, G, and B three primary colors, and performs level detection in units of color components. The exposure controller preferably determines, as an exposure control value, a color component of a maximum level of the photometry outputs corresponding to the color components which are measured by the photometry element. Exposure control is executed by calculating an aperture value, a shutter speed, and the like on the basis of the determined exposure control value.

  • Patent number: 6070018
Abstract: A camera is provided in which light entering from an object field through a shooting lens is reflected by reflective mirror, and an image is formed on a focusing screen. The light that forms the image is reflected in a pentaprism, and forms an image on an eyepiece lens. Photometry is performed on each light component of the light that left from the pentaprism through the photometry lens by a photometry element and color information from the photometry value is computed in a CPU. Looking through a finder the color information is displayed, having been computed by the CPU at a color information display apparatus. A user can see the display in the finder through the eyepiece lens. Also, a camera wherein when a photographer either presses a release button half way down or all the way down, the CPU performs an exposure calculation and calculates the aperture value and the shutter speed for appropriate exposure.

  • Patent number: 6021279
Abstract: A colorimetric device, particularly suitable for a camera, that provides reliable color data so that a subject field is photographed with appropriate color balance. A CPU reads out sensor data D.sub.B, D.sub.R corresponding to red (R) and blue (B) light components of an incident light from the subject field a light sensor or photometric element disposed in the camera. Next, the CPU compares the sensor data D.sub.B of the B color component, and the sensor data D.sub.R of the R color component, with a predetermined standard value K1, and when it is determined that either of the sensor data D.sub.B of the B color component, or the sensor data D.sub.R of the R color component, is below the standard value K1, a "measurement impossible" display is performed for a color temperature T and a balance value LB. On the other hand, if both sensor data D.sub.B, D.sub.R are greater than the standard value K1, the color temperature T and the light balance value LB are calculated by a calculation circuit.
