The cover (21) is fitted to the outside of the casing body (20) by an outside-fitting, and the edge of the cover (21) and the casing body (20) are welded to each other to form a battery case (10). Because the cover (21) is fitted and welded to the outside of the casing body (20), the cover (21) does not fall into the casing body (20), and metal melted during the welding of the cover does not flow into the inside of the casing body (20).
