  • Patent number: 8000196
Abstract: An optical disc reproducing device that composes a composite reproducing apparatus in accordance with the present invention includes an optical disc detecting portion which detects inserting and ejecting of an optical disc. The optical disc reproducing device also includes an identification information obtaining portion which obtains identification information to uniquely identify the optical disc from a management information recorded area of the optical disc. The identification information obtaining portion reads out the identification information and outputs it to a display device when inserting of the optical disc is detected by the optical disc detecting portion. An identification information recording portion which is included in the display device stores the identification information in a memory portion when the identification information is output from the optical disc reproducing device.

  • Patent number: 7656759
Abstract: In a record operation mode, a nonvolatile memory stores a record end address. In a restoring operation mode, the record end address stored in the nonvolatile memory is read, and a record end address in an FDCB is read and is compared with the record end address read from the nonvolatile memory to determine whether these addresses match with each other or not. When the record end address in the FDCB is different from the record end address stored in the nonvolatile memory, the data in the FDCB is updated based on the record end address stored in the nonvolatile memory.

  • Patent number: 7609600
Abstract: Recording is started in an INC mode at the time of start of initial data recording (step S1). Next, it is determined whether recording onto an unrecorded region is possible in the INC mode (step S2). If it is determined that the recording is impossible, next, temp lead-out is recorded at a last portion of a recording region (step S4). Then, a recording mode for format 2 RMD is changed (step S5). Next, format 3 RMD is newly created, and is recorded in RMD in a management region (step S6). Then, the recording is restarted in a ROW mode (step S7).

  • Patent number: 7281259
Abstract: A broadcasting receiver for receiving a digital broadcast of the invention has a sub-channel changing-dedicated operation key so that upon reception of an instruction sent from this operation key, such a sub-channel that is adjacent in a predetermined direction in the same main channel may be selected in switch-over. If the desired channel cannot be found in the predetermined direction when an upward channel-movement instruction is received, such a sub-channel is selected that has the largest or smallest channel number. Thus, it is possible to accommodate a digital broadcast that has a hierarchical construction consisting of the main channel and the sub-channels and also that has a frequently fluctuating channel configuration, thus avoiding a delay in time required for channel changing.

  • Patent number: 7212792
Abstract: A remote controller includes a plurality of keys, which are operated to transmit infrared signals different for each key. A receiving device executes different kinds of operations based on the kind of signal received from the remote controller. The receiving device can change the correspondence between the kind of signal received from the remote controller and the kind of operation to be executed.
