  • Publication number: 20020101538
Abstract: A user presets in a PC information, such as the user's favorite program categories, artist names, as key information. A receiver receives a digital radio broadcast in which additional information is multiplexed with audio information. The received additional information is transferred to the PC via communications means. The PC determines whether the preset key information is included in the additional information. If the key information is included, the additional information is stored in a storage device as an additional information file. Alternatively, the additional information is transmitted on a communications network with an ID of an information processing terminal at a user-specified destination attached thereto. The arrangement may be such that when a connection is established between the receiver and the PC via the communications means, the key information is transmitted from the PC to the receiver so that additional information can be selected on the receiver.

  • Publication number: 20020078469
Abstract: A broadcast receiver includes a controller which detects a reception log of a receiving unit and which records the reception log in a reception log memory. The reception log includes at least the reception channel, reception start time, and reception end time. Periodically, for example, once a week, an audience member connects the broadcast receiver to a general-purpose computer. The general-purpose computer transmits the reception log data recorded in the reception log memory, together with a receiver ID written in a ROM, through a telephone line over a communication network such as the Internet. A person who computes viewing/listening information obtains the reception log data and receiver ID from the communication network and computes viewing/listening information such as a program rating. Instead of providing the broadcast receiver with the reception log memory and a computer interface, a removable storage unit with a computer interface can be used.

  • Publication number: 20020036623
Abstract: An information processing apparatus, an information inputting device and an information processing main unit, which enable users to smoothly perform input operations and are more convenient to use. The information processing apparatus comprises a main unit and an input device. A touch panel is attached to a display screen of an LCD of the main unit. The input device includes a tip portion and a rotating wheel rotatable by the user. When the rotating wheel is rotated, information indicating the rotating operation applied to the rotating wheel is transmitted from a transmitter of the input device to the main unit. The main unit includes a receiver for receiving a signal from the input device, and executes information processing in accordance with the signal from the input device or upon contact of the tip portion of the input device against the touch panel.

  • Patent number: 4806757
Abstract: When the laser-stimulable phosphor plate of an information reading apparatus for radiation image is constituted of CsI as the base and 0.0003 to 0.03% in atomic ratio of Na, the output signal of the information reading apparatus can be increased and the decay time thereof can be shortened. When output signals are produced by detecting fluorescence emitted from a fluoroscopic plate disposed in confrontation with the laser-stimulable phosphor plate, there is provided an information reading apparatus for radiation image having an improved S/N ratio and a high efficiency of taking in laser-stimulated luminescence. Further, instead of Na or together with Na, there may be added at least one element selected from the group consisting of Li, K, Rb, Cu, Au, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Cd, Hg, B, Al, Ga, In, Tl, Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Si, Ti, Zr, Ge, Sn, Pb, As, Sb, and Bi. In this case, the total content of these elements is set to be 0.00001 to 1% in atomic ratio.

  • Patent number: 4219587
Abstract: Pigment-coated phosphors which may be used in the production of a cathode-ray tube of a high contrast for a color television receiver can be produced by adding a pigment and an anionic polymer emulsion to an aqueous suspension of a phosphor and then making the system neutral or weakly acidic or adding a cationic polymer emulsion or carrying out both of these steps so that the phosphor and the pigment may be coated with the polymer.
