Abstract: An image transmission system utilizing a portable device includes a light-receiving unit, a unit for generating image data on the basis of an output from the light-receiving unit, and a unit for transmitting the image data generated by the generating unit. The portable device includes a light-emitting unit, and a control unit for causing the light-emitting unit to emit light in accordance with call data and image data.

Abstract: A system generates a call according to the states of a photoreception unit of a call generator in response to data from a portable device. Data received by the photoreception unit from different types of portable devices can be processed and the portable device operation and the data transmission may be controlled according to the destination for the data and the mode of communication required by destination communication apparatus. Facsimile or telephone call data may be transmitted by the portable device in accordance with the type of destination communication apparatus.

The signal generator comprises an input signal generating circuit and a double-key-depression detecting circuit. Abstract: An apparatus for suppressing undesired information comprises an information storge device in which characters or symbols of plural digits are stored in the form of coded information. Digit designating means is provided to designate digits for detecting whether output of the information stored in the storage device is desired or not. Also, means are provided for reducing the designated digits of the storage device by one digit when the detecting means detects that the information to be displayed is present in at least one of the designated digits of the storage device, and for suppressing the information in the at least one digit of the storage device designated by the designating means when the information to be displayed is not present in any of the designated digits of the storage device.
