    Abstract: A battery system includes a battery stack, a pair of end plates, a pair of binding bars, and a pair of ducts. The battery stack includes a plurality of battery cells and separators being stacked alternatively one by one and has openings on both longer sides. The opening communicates with a cooling path. The end plates are disposed on both shorter sides of the battery stack. Each of the pair of binding bars includes openings that faces the openings of the battery stack. A duct covers the openings of the binding bar, and guides the cooling air. The duct includes openings that is formed along the openings. In the separator, blocking parts are formed, and the blocking part protrudes in a direction of both sides along the opening. The blocking parts cover the opening ends of the opening and the opening ends of the openings.

In the U-ing process, a collapsible U-ing punch, including a center block carrying paired side punches on both sides and a bottom punch at the bottom, is used. The U-ing punch insures that the O-shaped workpiece has the desired butt gap by decreasing the ratio of its height to its width when the gap proves to be smaller than the desired butt edge gap, and vice versa when the gap proves to be larger than the desired butt edge gap.

    Abstract: An apparatus for continuous treatment of cold rolled steel sheet. The apparatus has a continuous annealing furnace through which the sheet is continuously passed and which is composed of, in succession, a heating chamber for heating the cold rolled steel sheet to a temperature range of 700.degree. to 900.degree. C. within 2 minutes, a soaking chamber for keeping the sheet in the above temperature range for two minutes or less, a primary cooling chamber for rapidly cooling the sheet from the above temperature range to an overageing at a rate of 5.degree. to 30.degree. C./sec., an overageing chamber for keeping the sheet between 300.degree. to 400.degree. C. for up to eight minutes, and a secondary cooling chamber for cooling the sheet from the above overageing temperature to below 50.degree. C. within 2 minutes. Adjacent the output end of said furnace is apparatus for successively skin pass rolling, levelling and recoiling the sheet from the annealing furnace.
