  • Patent number: 6986189
Abstract: In order to simplify a step of forming a conductive layer for external connection and improve the reliability thereof, at least either internal individual electrodes or internal common electrodes, which comprise of a piezoelectric vibrator, are connected with each other at through holes situated spaced away from an end face of the piezoelectric vibrator and connected to either a segment electrode of a common electrode, which are formed on one surface in a longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric vibrator. According, it is not necessary to form a conductive layer on the end face or a corner portion where such a layer is hardly formed. Furthermore, even if such portions are slightly broken, the conductivity can be maintained.

  • Patent number: 6984010
Abstract: After assembling an ink jet recording head which includes a plurality of nozzle orifices forming at least one nozzle row, pressure chambers each communicated with the associated nozzle orifice, pressure generating elements each generating pressure fluctuation in ink provided in the associated pressure chamber to eject an ink droplet from the associated nozzle orifice, a natural period of the ink pressure fluctuation in the pressure chamber of the assembled recording head is measured. Then the assembled recording head is classified into a plurality of ranks, based on the measured natural period.

  • Publication number: 20050231564
Abstract: An ink jet head 22 of linear form which consists of a plurality of nozzles 27 arranged as a nozzle row 28 is provided in an ink jet device for manufacture of a color filter. Filter element material 13 from the nozzles 27 which differ from the motherboard 12 is discharged four superimposed times by the plurality of nozzles 27, and is formed to a predetermined film thickness upon a single filter element 3. It is possible to prevent the occurrence of undesirable deviations in film thickness between different ones of the filter elements 3, so that it is possible to flatten and make even the optical transparency characteristic of the resulting color filter 1.

  • Patent number: 6779866
Abstract: A jetting head is provided with a nozzle orifice, a pressure chamber communicated with the nozzle orifice, and a piezoelectric element which is deformable to cause pressure fluctuation to liquid contained in the pressure chamber. A drive signal generator simultaneously generates a plurality of drive signals, each provided with waveform elements including at least one drive pulse in every unit jetting cycle. The drive pulse deforms the piezoelectric element to cause such pressure fluctuation as to eject a liquid droplet from the nozzle orifice. A switcher selectively supplies at least one of the waveform elements included in one of the drive signals to the piezoelectric element. A switch controller controls a selective supply operation of the switcher in accordance with amount data which indicates an amount of the liquid droplet to be ejected. A time period in which the drive pulse is generated in one of the drive signal and that in another one of the drive signals overlap at least partly.

  • Patent number: 6732414
Abstract: A manufacturing method of manufacturing a liquid jet head which has a plurality of piezoelectric vibrators, each having, at least in part, a laminate structure of electrodes and at least one layer of piezoelectric material. An ejection characteristic measurement step applies a similar drive signal to all of the piezoelectric vibrators to eject liquid from the nozzle openings. The liquid ejection characteristics are measured in a one-by-one basis of the nozzle openings. An ejection characteristic adjustment step sets a treatment condition for at least one of the piezoelectric vibrators based on a result of measurement by the ejection characteristic measurement step. At least one piezoelectric vibrator is subjected to a displacement amount adjustment based on the set treatment condition by trimming away a portion of an external electrode, thereby making the liquid ejection characteristic associated with the nozzle openings uniform.
