  • Publication number: 20050106388
Abstract: Polyester fibers having an individual fiber thickness of 0.1 to 10 dtex are produced from a polyester polymer produced by polycondensing an aromatic dicarboxylate ester in the presence of a catalyst including a mixture of a Ti compound component (A) including at least one member selected from titanium alkoxides and reaction products of the titanium alkoxides with a specific type of carboxylic acids or anhydrides thereof, with a specific P compound component (B), and/or a reaction product of a Ti compound component (C) with a specific P compound component (D). The resultant fibers have a good color tone (a low b value) a stable drawing and false-twisting processability and exhibit excellent appearance and performance.

  • Publication number: 20020122582
Abstract: A programming apparatus supports a user to program a visual inspection program used in a visual inspection apparatus. A plurality of standard inspection flows corresponding to kinds of products to be inspected, a plurality of image processing algorithms and a plurality of inspection parameters used in the visual inspection of the product are previously memorized. The user prepares a plurality of image data of defective units and non-defective units of the product which he wishes to inspect, and programs a provisional visual inspection program configured by the standard inspection flow corresponding to the kind of the product which is selected by the user, the image processing algorithms and the inspection parameters selected by following a guidance of the standard inspection flow. The provisional visual inspection program is evaluated by using the sample image data whether it is proper or improper for inspecting the product.

  • Patent number: 6253728
Abstract: An internal combustion gasoline engine has an air intake assembly which injects air through the cylinder head into the cylinder to generate swirl (horizontal vortex) flow (as opposed to tumble (vertical vortex) flow) for stratified charge combustion, and to generate tumble flow for homogeneous charge combustion. The piston includes a cavity combustion chamber at the top surface of the piston, the cavity combustion chamber having an increasing cross sectional area as the top of the piston is approached.

  • Patent number: 6234123
Abstract: In a disclosed four-cycle internal combustion engine and a method of controlling valve timing according to the present invention, a load put on the four-cycle internal combustion engine is detected, and a judgment is made as to whether or not the load of the four-cycle internal combustion engine is low, and when the judgment is made that the load of the four-cycle internal combustion engine is low, valve timing of an exhaust valve of the four-cycle internal combustion engine is set so that valve closing time of the exhaust valve advances before a top dead center of a piston of the four-cycle internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 6209514
Abstract: A direct injection internal combustion gasoline engine has a piston 4 which includes a first inclined surface 22 approximately parallel to an intake-side inclined surface 11a of a cylinder head and a second inclined surface 23 approximately parallel to an exhaust-side inclined surface 11b of the cylinder head. A cavity combustion chamber 12 is recessed in the first inclined surface. A pair of valve recesses 31, 32 is also recessed in the first inclined surface. An arcuate dam section 21a is formed along the periphery of the valve recesses with the first inclined surface.

  • Patent number: 6092501
Abstract: An internal combustion gasoline engine has an air intake assembly which introduces air through the cylinder head into the cylinder to generate swirl (horizontal vortex) flow (as opposed to tumble (vertical vortex) flow) for stratified charge combustion, and to generate tumble flow for homogeneous charge combustion. The piston includes a cavity combustion chamber at the top surface of the piston, the cavity combustion chamber having a round shape and an increasing cross sectional area as the top of the piston is approached. During stratified charge combustion, swirl flow is smoothly guided into the cavity combustion chamber and preserved with a sufficient intensity since the cavity combustion chamber is well sealed at its whole periphery. During homogeneous charge combustion, a tumble flow is formed inside the cylinder, and fuel injection is made in the intake stroke. Fuel supplied into the cavity combustion chamber is easily washed away by the tumble stream.

  • Patent number: 5542381
Abstract: A liquid-cooled engine cylinder block wherein a plurality of cylinder walls forming cylindrical cylinders are arranged in series. The adjacent cylinder walls are joined together, and the outer circumference of these cylinder walls is covered by a water jacket wall. A passage for cooling liquid is formed between the water jacket wall and the cylinder walls in a direction perpendicular to the axes of cylinders. A guide rib is provided in the passage adjacent to the outer circumference of the cylinder walls so as to vertically divide the flow of cooling liquid. The guide rib comprises two guide members, one of which is inclined in an upward direction and the other inclined in a downward direction from their respective upstream ends. The cooling liquid in the passage is separated into upper and lower flows by the guide rib, and these flows combine a hollow area of the cylinder walls at the side of the cylinder joining member at the downstream of the guide rib.

  • Patent number: 5220891
Abstract: A variable cam engine is provided with a plurality of cams which open and close an intake valve and an exhaust valve, a cam change-over mechanism which changes over these cams according to the rise of the supplied oil pressure, a lubrication path which supplies lubricating oil discharged by an oil pump to the engine parts, and an oil pressure path which supplies part of this oil to the cam change-over mechanism. A throttle is provided in the lubrication path. By throttling this throttle in the low engine speed region, the oil pressure in the oil pressure path is maintained and the cams can be changed over by the change-over mechanism even when the engine is running at a low speed of, for example, 2500 rpm.
