  • Patent number: 6519209
Abstract: In a display device, a light ray transmitted through an area which varies a polarization axis, and a light ray transmitted through an area which does not vary the polarization axis, respectively, become a linearly polarized light component (a first returning light ray) which is a specularly reflected from a specular reflecting element, and transmitted through a second polarization separator, a polarization changing element, and a first polarization separator, and a linearly polarized light component (a second returning light ray) which is specularly reflected by the second polarization separator, and transmitted through the polarization changing element and the first polarization separator. The first and second returning light rays present a background portion and a segment portion in a bright display. Both the first returning light ray and the second returning light ray are specularly reflected, presenting both the background portion and the segment portion in a mirror-like fashion.

  • Patent number: 6385139
Abstract: A display device is provided which is able to effect high visibility display utilizing external light, and which is able to effect reflective display with a combination of various textures and color. The display device includes a first polarized-light separating member for transmitting a linearly polarized light component polarized in a first direction, a transmitted light polarization axis changing device capable of selecting states of changing and not changing a transmitted light polarization axis, a second polarized-light separating member for transmitting a linearly polarized light component in a polarized second direction and for mirror-reflecting a linearly polarized light perpendicular to the linearly polarized light component, and a reflecting element disposed in that order. Coloring layers or light-diffusing layers are formed on the surface or the back of the second polarized-light separating member.

  • Publication number: 20010024197
Abstract: The terminals for a display content control signal or product specification control signal of an integrated circuit are all connected to a corresponding pattern of a circuit board. A display content control signal or product specification control signal pattern is provided together in a display device drive signal pattern for input to the display device or display device through a connection member such as a connector, whereby a plurality of kinds of electronic circuits mounting integrated circuits are not required to manufacture/manage and a soldering pattern or switch member for display content switching or product specification switching is excluded from the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6265309
Abstract: A cleaning agent for use in producing semiconductor devices. The cleaning agent is an aqueous solution containing (A) a fluorine-containing compound, (B) a salt of boric acid, (C) a water-soluble organic solvent, and optionally, (D) a specific quaternary ammonium salt or (D′) a specific ammonium salt of an organic carboxylic acid or a specific amine salt of an organic carboxylic acid. The polymeric deposit inside and around the via holes and on the side wall of the conductive line pattern formed during the dry etching process can be effectively removed by using the cleaning agent without affecting the dimensions of the via holes and the conductive line pattern.

  • Patent number: 6252829
Abstract: An electronic watch diversifies the mode of display for numeric information and the like to presents the information using the natural ambient light or a back light. The electronic watch may includes a polarizer for transmitting a linearly polarized light polarized in one direction while absorbing the remaining polarized light, a liquid crystal element that selects a state in which the polarization of a polarized light ray is changed through transmission and a state in which the polarization of the polarized light is not changed, a polarization separating film, opposed to the polarizer with the liquid crystal element interposed therebetween, and a back light for emitting light to the liquid crystal element through the polarization separating film. The polarization separating film 12 transmits light polarized in one direction while reflecting light linearly polarized in a direction perpendicular to the one direction.

  • Patent number: 6229104
Abstract: A composite switch utilizing a single button to perform two or more switching functions including a rotational direction switch operation and a push-button switch operation. Rotational movement of the button elastically deforms a first contact spring by a rotation of a cam fixed to the button via a button shaft so as to connect the contact spring to a first electrode. Axial movement (push-button operation) elastically deforms a second contact spring provided at a lower end portion of the button shaft in response to a pressing down operation of the button so as to connect the second contact spring to a second electrode. A rotational direction returning spring and a pressing down direction returning spring are provided in an inner portion of the button for biasing the button in a neutral position and automatically returning the button to the neutral position. A waterproof packing is slidably disposed between the button shaft and a case in which the switches and button shaft are disposed.

  • Patent number: 6099766
Abstract: A preform molding method and apparatus which can utilize a part of an injection mold to crystallize a neck of a preform. A rotary disc includes a plurality of neck cavity molds. An injection molding station, first heating station, second heating station and cooling/removing station are located at the respective positions where the neck cavity molds stops. The injection molding station injection molds a preform having a neck. The preform is sequentially conveyed the first and second heating stations while being held by neck cavity molds at the neck. Each of the heating stations heats the neck cavity molds so that the neck of the preform is heated up to a temperature of crystallization. Thereafter, the cooling/removing station cools the neck cavity molds. After the cooling step, the preforms are released and removed from the neck cavity molds. Thereafter, the neck cavity molds are returned to the injection molding station.

  • Patent number: 5972862
Abstract: There is disclosed a cleaning liquid for producing a semiconductor device which comprises (A) fluorine-containing compound; (B) water-soluble or water-miscible organic solvent; and (C) inorganic acid and/or organic acid, optionally, further comprises (D) quaternary ammonium salt or (D') a specific organic carboxylic acid ammonium salt and/or an organic carboxylic acid amine salt; as well as a process for producing a semiconductor device by forming a resist pattern on a substrate equipped on the surface with an insulating film layer or a metallic electroconductive layer, forming a via hole or electric wiring by dry etching, removing the resist pattern by ashing treatment with oxygen plasma; and effecting an cleaning treatment with the above cleaning liquid. The above cleaning liquid and production process can readily remove the deposit polymer formed in the case of dry etching without impairing metallic film and insulating film.

  • Patent number: 5763030
Abstract: A biaxially stretch blow-molded article, particularly adapted for hot fill applications, having an improved bottom configuration. The bottom has grounding bottom portion and a central inwardly concave dome inside of the grounding bottom portion. The central inwardly concave dome has annular flat walls at different levels from the grounding bottom portion. The annular flat walls are defined by polygons of similar figures. An angle of one of the polygons is aligned along a radial line connecting a bisected point of one side of an adjacent upper or lower polygon and the center of the central inwardly concave dome. The angles of the polygons are the highly stretched areas having a high latitudinal stretch ratio, while the sides of the polygons particularly around the center point, are the moderately stretched areas. The highly and the moderately stretched areas are alternately arranged around the central inwardly concave dome in the circumferential and radial directions.
