  • Patent number: 5871157
Abstract: A fuel injection valve comprisesa valve unit 3 which includes a hollow valve body 9, a valve seat 11 provided at an end of the valve body and having an injection nozzle 10, a valve 12 movable in the valve body to come into contact with and separate from the valve seat 11 so that the injection nozzle 10 is opened and closed, anda swirler 13 which is arranged around the valve 12 to support the same in a slidable manner and which provides a swirling force to fuel flowing through the injection nozzle 10, wherein the swirler 13 has outer circumferential surface portions 19a which are in contact with an inner circumference of the valve body 9 to regulate the position with respect to the valve body 9; flow passage portions formed between adjacent outer circumferential surface portions 19a to define fuel passages for passing fuel in the axial direction, and swirling grooves 25 formed in the end surface which faces the valve seat 11 in the axial direction so as to be at an eccentric position with respect to the center

  • Patent number: 5630400
Abstract: A direct injection fuel injection valve includes a valve assembly 6, a hollow housing 14 having a coupling portion 16 coupled to the valve assembly and adapted to be connected to the fuel supply pipe 5, and a solenoid assembly 22 disposed for operating the valve assembly. The housing has an abutting surface 36 disposed at a position radially outward of the coupling portion with respect to the valve assembly and in an opposing relationship relative to a shoulder portion 3 of the fuel injection valve insertion hole 2, and a mounting surface 31 for positioning the housing relative to the cylinder head. A sleeve 40 is provided with one end disposed on the valve assembly in opposition to the shoulder portion of the cylinder head and the other end mounted to the housing in abutment against the abutting surface to bridge across the valve assembly and the housing over the coupling portion.

  • Patent number: 5597121
Abstract: An air fuel mixing portion 5A in an air fuel assist type fuel injection valve comprises a cylindrical upstream portion 5a including an air injection opening 3, and a cylindrical downstream portion 5b whereby dripping of fuel can be minimized. A spray angle of 30.degree. or less is obtainable, and a rate of change in fuel flow between an air-injection time and a non-air-injection time can be reduced. Further, the relation between the diameter D.sub.1 of the upstream portion and the diameter D.sub.2 of the downstream portion is determined to be D.sub.1 <D.sub.2.

  • Patent number: 5411212
Abstract: An air fuel mixing portion 5A in an air fuel assist type fuel injection valve comprises an upstream cylindrical portion including an air injection opening and a tapered downstream portion whereby dripping of fuel can be minimized. A spray angle of 30.degree. or less is obtainable, and a rate of change in fuel flow between an air-injection time and a non-air-injection time can be reduced. Further, the relation between the inner diameter D.sub.1 of the cylindrical portion and the smallest diameter of the tapered portion is determined to be D.sub.1 <D.sub.2.
