  • Patent number: 6160603
Abstract: According to the present invention, no gap occurs in the joint between adjacent blocks when a design is marked in several blocks. In a liquid crystal laser marker for making a liquid crystal mask (2) with a plurality of pixels display a design to be marked on workpieces and for transmitting a laser beam through the liquid crystal mask to a workpiece so that the design will be marked on the workpiece, the liquid crystal mask is such that the pixels at all or part of the outermost sides have a size which is different from that of the inner pixels. The liquid crystal laser marker further includes a controller (11), when a design is divided into several blocks (1, 1, 1) and one of the blocks is displayed on the liquid crystal mask, the controller controls the liquid crystal mask such that a marking position of the block currently displayed on the liquid crystal mask overlaps a marking position of a block adjacent to the currently displayed block by a given length (L.sub.1, L.sub.

  • Patent number: 5294666
Abstract: A polymer used for optical products wherein the polymer comprises 2,5-dimethyl-1,4-dithiane skeletons represented by formula (1): ##STR1## and 1,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane skeletons represented by formula (2): ##STR2## and a part of or all of bonds between the 2,5-dimethyl-1,4-dithiane skeleton and the 1,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane skeleton are thiourethane bonds. The polymer exhibits 1.63 or more of refractive index, 35 or more of Abbe's number and 100.degree. C. or more of second-order transition point. The polymer is prepared by polyaddition of 2,5-dimercaptomethyl-1,4-dithiane and 1,3,5-triisocyanatomethylcyclohexane.

  • Patent number: 5118548
Abstract: The present invention relates to a substrate for information-recording media, which is formed of a polymer containing a specific acrylate-based monomer as an essential component. Since the acrylate-based monomer has a rigid skeleton similar to that of bisphenol A, the substrate for recording media, formed of the polymer of such a monomer, has high hardness and excellent heat resistance. Further, due to six fluorine atoms that the acrylate-based monomer contains, the substrate has advantages of low water absorptivity and easy die removability.

  • Patent number: 4641880
Abstract: A rear door structure in a hatchback motor vehicle includes a pane of glass having a pair of side edges curved downwardly, and a frame supporting the pane of glass in surrounding relation to an outer peripheral edge thereof. The frame includes a front frame member pivotally mounted on the vehicle body, a rear frame member supporting a rear edge of the pane of glass and having a first channel for receiving water flowing from an outer surface of the rear frame member when the rear door structure is opened, and a pair of side frame members supporting side edges of the pane of glass and each having a second channel communicating with the first channel. The vehicle body includes rear pillars each having a drip channel communicating with the second channels. When the rear door structure is lifted open, water collected in the first channel flows through the second channels into the drip channel, from which the water is drained out.
