    Abstract: The link member (10a) is connected to the lock lever (7) by a pin (23d). Thus, the link member (10a) is pulled to an upward direction by the upward movement of the lock lever (7). At this point, with the movement of the lock lever 7, the link members (10a) and (10b) operate toward a direction that increases the angle between the two, and the plunger (22a) connected to the linkage (15c) moves backward. Thus, when the plunger (22a) is unable to move with respect to the body of the electromagnetic solenoid (22) due to freezing etc., the linkage (15c) is unable to move. Therefore, in such a case, the lock lever (7) becomes inoperable.

The cylindrical portion includes a caulking-fed portion for the bundle optical fibers and an insertion/coupling-fixed portion for the coupling-fixed portion, the caulking-fixed portion and the insertion/coupling-fixed portion are formed successively from a front end face of the cylindrical portion.

    Abstract: A USB connector includes a receptacle which includes a receptacle shell and a receptacle terminal; a plug which includes a plug shell for fitting into the receptacle shell and a plug terminal; and an engagement release member which is provided on the plug shell so as to be movable between an engagement releasing position and an engagement position. When the plug is fitted into the receptacle, the plug terminal is electrically connected to the receptacle terminal. The plug shell has a retaining portion. The receptacle shell has an engagement portion which is engaged with the retaining portion when the plug is fitted into the receptacle. The engagement release member maintains an engagement of the retaining portion with the engagement portion at the engagement position. The engagement release member releases the engagement of the retaining portion with the engagement portion at the engagement releasing position.

    Abstract: A plastic optical fiber cable 21 comprises a lead portion 22 of synthetic resin; and a coating portion 23 of synthetic resin. The coating portion comprises a core 24, a cladding 25 surrounding the core and a protective sheathing 26. The protective sheathing serves to protect said cladding from an effect when said coating portion is removed. The protective sheathing is harder than said cladding and has higher adherence to adhesive than said cladding has. Said protective sheathing has a thickness which is larger than a manufacturing clearance of said lead portion. In this configuration, a plastic optical fiber cable is provided which is not affected by removal of the coating portion.
