  • Patent number: 10794237
Abstract: A control device has a VVT (variable valve timing) mechanism which changes opening or closing timing of at least one of an intake valve and an exhaust valve, and includes: a processor; a sensor for detecting atmospheric pressure; and a sensor for detecting the amount of air flowing through an intake air flow path. The processor calculates a charging efficiency based on the detected amount of air, calculates a volumetric efficiency from the detected amount of air and the detected atmospheric pressure, calculates the charging efficiency valve opening timing of the intake valve based on the charging efficiency, calculates the volumetric efficiency valve opening timing of the intake valve based on the volumetric efficiency, and sets the valve opening timing(s) of at least one of the intake valve and the exhaust valve based on one of the charging efficiency valve opening timing and the volumetric efficiency valve opening timing.

  • Publication number: 20190292950
Abstract: A control device for an internal combustion engine, which can set a VVT (variable valve timing) phase angle so that a reduction in the output of the engine can be suppressed even on a high ground, while ensuring sufficient output, is provided. The control device has a VVT mechanism which changes the opening or closing timing of one or both of an intake valve and an exhaust valve, and comprises: a processor device; a memory device for storing a control program for controlling the processor device; a first sensor for detecting atmospheric pressure; and a second sensor for detecting the amount of air flowing through an intake air flow path.

  • Patent number: 7677216
Abstract: An engine start controller having a starter motor that is driven by battery to start engine, an activation switch that sends to the starter motor a START command for starting the engine, an activation circuit that connects the starter motor to the battery to supply a drive current, and an engine start control unit that issues an OPERATE command for operating the activation circuit when receiving the START command from the activation switch, and supplies the drive current to the starter motor. The controller is provided with a bypass circuit that directly sends to the activation circuit the START command that has been sent from the activation switch.

  • Patent number: 5979413
Abstract: A rotating member is provided on an output rotating shaft of an internal combustion engine to generate a signal corresponding to a predetermined cylinder group and an identification signal for identifying the particular cylinder group, and based on these signals, the particular cylinder group is identified. At the time of the start of internal combustion engine, fuel cut mode, or steady constant-speed running, the fuel injection amount of the particular cylinder among said particular cylinder groups is made different from that of other cylinders at a group injection timing such that the particular cylinder assumed on the basis of the cylinder group identification result is the reference, whether the assumption is true or false is judged from the present rotational variation and the cylinder group identification result, and the stroke phase of each cylinder is discriminated to make cylinder discrimination. At this time, the controlled variable relating to the rotational speed is regulated for other cylinders.
