  • Patent number: 6791701
Abstract: An image forming apparatus capable of realizing reduction in circuit scale by effectively using memory and hardware resources. The image forming apparatus is operable selectively between in two operation modes, a copy mode and a printer mode, and includes a plurality of VRAMs, a VRAM control circuit for controlling data storage and reading into and from the VRAMs, a controller for controlling an operation of the VRAM control circuit, a display for displaying an image, and an interface for inputting data transmitted from an external apparatus. The controller rearranges wiring of a gate array of a device in the VRAM control circuit according to the operation mode, thereby switching at least one of the VRAMs so as to act as a memory for storing image data for displaying an image on the display or as a buffer for temporarily storing data input through the interface.

  • Publication number: 20040105337
Abstract: A semiconductor integrated circuit is provided which is capable of selecting lines of a data bus to which data is input when the number of bits of input data is different from the number of bits of the data bus with which to input data to be written into a RAM. The semiconductor integrated circuit comprises K-bit data bus lines D0 to D7 (K is an integer 2 or more) to which data is input; selection circuits SEL (0) to SEL (13) for selecting data input through an N number of the data bus lines on the high bit side or through an N number of the data bus lines on the low bit side based on a set signal when N-bit data is input into the data bus lines (N is an integer smaller than K); and a random access memory (RAM) 1 for storing data selected by the selection circuit.

  • Publication number: 20040095265
Abstract: A semiconductor integrated circuit is provided which comprises a serial/parallel conversion circuit for converting serial data which is input together with a clock signal into parallel data; a memory for storing the parallel data converted by the serial/parallel conversion circuit; and a write pulse producing circuit for producing a pulse to be used to set the period of time for writing data into the memory. The semiconductor integrated circuit converts serial data into parallel data, stores the parallel data, and stably operates even when the cycle of data writing/reading is shortened.

  • Publication number: 20020135604
Abstract: The present invention provides a display drive circuit, a semiconductor integrated circuit, a display panel, and a display drive method that make it possible to broaden the types of colors that can be displayed and increase the degree of freedom of the selection of colors displayed, when displaying color in a plurality of grayscales. The system is provided with a RAM which sequentially stores data for image display; a plurality of grayscale pattern selection circuits, each selecting one grayscale pattern from among a plurality of grayscale patterns, based on data stored in the RAM; and a plurality of frame selection circuits which sequentially output grayscale patterns selected by the grayscale pattern selection circuits for a series of image frames.
