Abstract: A dental handpiece is provided with a collar that moves along an outer surface of the handpiece. A contact is secured to the collar. The collar interfaces with an electrical circuit that extends within the dental handpiece. The contact is removable from the collar and the contact defines an electrical connection between a cutting tool used with the dental handpiece and the electrical circuit that extends within the dental handpiece.

Abstract: An athletic glove having an enhanced flexibility features for assisting in the opening and closing of the glove. A glove can include a front ply forming a palm and front portion and a back ply forming a back portion. The peripheries of the front and back plies attached together to form the glove. The glove includes a thumb stall, at least on finger stall, a hand receiving opening, a heel portion of the front ply, and a web portion positioned between the thumb stall and the finger stall. The glove further includes at least one predefined fold in the palm, such that the fold increases the flexibility of the glove and thereby facilitates the opening and closing of the glove. The glove can also comprise a notch formed in the back ply between the finger stall and the hand receiving opening to further increase the flexibility of the glove. Other embodiments are also claimed and described.

Abstract: A multiple dimensional sandal having a multi-positional strap includes a sole having a heel portion, a forefoot portion, a lateral side and a medial side. A sandal includes a first strap portion having a fixed position with respect to the sole, and a pair of convertible strap portions having moveable positions with respect to one another and to the sole. The convertible strap portions are selectively positionable to define at least three sandal strap configurations. In a first configuration, the convertible strap portions coextend along the first strap portion to define a thong type sandal. In a second configuration, the convertible strap portions extend over the instep of the user's forefoot to define a thong sandal with an instep strap. In a third configuration, the convertible strap portions extend around the back of the heel to define a thong sandal having a heel strap.

Abstract: There is described a device for controlling a primary remote control, the apparatus comprising: a receiver adapted to receive a control signal for remotely operating an apparatus from a secondary remote control; and control circuitry coupled to the receiver, configured to be operatively connected to the primary remote control and adapted to communicate the control signal to the primary remote control, thereby activating the primary remote control for operation of the apparatus.

Abstract: A fill valve for a toilet tank includes a multi-piece shank assembly. The shank assembly includes a first hollow member coupled with a second hollow member using a snap joint. The first hollow member has a tortuous outer surface, which together with the second hollow member forms a plurality of flow paths. The flow paths are configured to reduce water noise. The first and second hollow members are provided separately, resulting in simplified molding process and improved assembly automation.

Abstract: An article of footwear comprises a chassis having an upper side and a lower side. At least one outsole component is attached to the lower side of the chassis, at least one midsole component is attached to the upper side of the chassis, and an upper is attached to the chassis. At least one opening extends through the chassis from the upper side to the lower side which is unobstructed by the outsole and midsole components. The openings allow for air circulation and water drainage. The chassis is comprised of multiple sub-frames that can be independently fastened to the other footwear components.
