  • Patent number: 9838860
Abstract: A method for efficient wireless communications performed by a communications apparatus includes determining a cell according to a low priority list; and performing an attach procedure to try to attach to the cell for establishing an emergency call through the cell. The low priority list comprises information regarding a public land mobile network (PLMN) identity (ID), tracking area (TA) code, a cell ID and/or a closed subscriber group (CSG) ID of at least one attempted cell through which the communications apparatus has attempted but failed to establish an emergency call.

  • Patent number: 9788208
Abstract: A mobile communication device including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a service network. The controller determines, during an ongoing Non-Access Stratum (NAS) procedure, whether a SECURITY MODE COMMAND message received from the service network via the wireless transceiver fails an integrity protection check and no RRC CONNECTION RELEASE message has been received from the service network via the wireless transceiver, or whether transmission of a SECURITY MODE COMPLETE message to the service network via the wireless transceiver has failed. Also, the controller locally releases a connection to the service network when the SECURITY MODE COMMAND message fails the integrity protection check and no RRC CONNECTION RELEASE message has been received, or when the transmission of the SECURITY MODE COMPLETE message has failed.

  • Patent number: 8190936
Abstract: The method for maximizing an unavailability interval includes the steps of initializing the starting frame number of each power saving class fi to 1 and adjusting fi to fi? when the least common multiple of m1, m2, . . . , mi?1 and mi is not relatively prime. The index i is an integer from 1 to t, mi is the sleep cycle of the ith power saving class, and fi? is an integer that maximizes common sleep windows of the i power saving classes. The common sleep windows of the t power saving classes are then set as the maximum unavailability interval of the wireless telecommunication device.

  • Publication number: 20080294893
Abstract: A security reconfigurable device is adapted for use in an integrated wireless network integrating at least two wireless networks, and includes a plurality of security modules and a control unit. The security modules are used to respectively realize security mechanisms related to the wireless networks. According to security requirements, the control unit selects one of the security modules for operation. The security reconfigurable device can reduce time and cost for updating the security mechanisms. A method for security reconfiguration is also disclosed.
