Abstract: A first electronic device and a method for providing a group call service are provided. The method includes receiving a user input for a group call between multiple people included in a designated image, acquiring facial features of the multiple people, acquiring, based on the facial features, first contact information of a first person from a first local contact list stored in the first electronic device, transmitting the first contact information of the first person and a facial feature of a second person to a server, receiving an identification value of the first person holding second contact information of the second person from the server, initiating, based on the first contact information, the group call of the first person with respect to a second electronic device, and transmitting a request for participation of a third electronic device in the group call to the second electronic device.
