Abstract: The present disclosure relates systems and methods involving movable/adjustable platforms and/or guardrails. An example system includes a bracket configured to be coupled to a fixed structure having a walking surface. The system also includes a flip door portion rotatably coupled to the bracket and a guardrail portion rotatably coupled to the flip door portion. The system includes a linkage further coupling the flip door portion to the guardrail portion. The system yet further includes an actuator configured to controllably adjust a configuration of the flip door portion, the linkage, and the guardrail portion between an extended configuration and a retracted configuration with respect to the walking surface.

Abstract: A high magnification MWIR continuous zoom optical system is described herein that consists of the following components: a front detachable extender group, a fixed group for focusing incoming radiation, three moving groups for zooming and generating an intermediate image and a relay group. The mentioned optical system has the ability to work with MWIR radiation (3-5 ?m) and generate a thermal image from the gathered radiation. The system also has the ability to zoom continuously in a wide variable focal length range with a high magnification ratio of 20×. With the use of a cooled detector, the combined system allows its user to be able to receive high quality thermal images in all FOV configurations.

Each post includes an upper primary member, a lower primary member, an upper secondary member, and a lower secondary member. The upper secondary member is rotatably coupled to the upper primary member and the lower secondary member is rotatably coupled to the lower primary member. The upper primary member is further coupled to the top rail and the lower primary member is coupled to the enclosure.

A bottom plate spaced apart from the top plate has a plurality of light outputs mounted along a major surface thereof and positioned to be opposite each detector. A light source is optically coupled to each light output through a splitter. A computer is electrically coupled to the light source for receiving feedback therefrom and for controlling the light source. The computer is also electrically coupled to each radiometer for recording data therefrom. During monitoring, a faceplate panel having a matrix applied thereto is accurately positioned between the top and bottom plates such that the center detector is located approximately above the center of the faceplate panel.

Abstract: A process of preparing a ferrierite-type zeolite, with high crystallinity rate and having a anhydrous stage composition expressed by the formula M.sub.x (AlO.sub.2).sub.x (SiO.sub.2).sub.y, M being a cation of an alkaline metal such as Na or K, or a mix of both. The process contains a gel-producing step, by addition of boric acid to an aqueous aluminum-sulfate solution mixed with a aqueous solution containing oxides of Na and/or K and of Si, without the use of a structural agent. The invention also pertains to any zeolite obtained by this process, and its uses.
