    Abstract: A light-modulating device includes optical microstructures, each including a topmost layer, a bottommost layer, and in-between layers. The bottommost layer extends in a last predetermined axis which turns about a center axis such that an incident light beam passing through the topmost layer in an incident route is modulated to permit the light beam emitting from the bottommost layer to impinge upon a solar concentrator disposed below the light-modulating device along an impinging route different from the incident route.     Abstract: The present invention provides a light-guide device, comprising a transmission body and a light filter, wherein one end of the transmission body receives incident light, and the other end emits highly collimating light; a microstructure portion is disposed on at least a part of the surface thereof; and a reflecting portion is disposed on an inner surface. The light filter is disposed on an outer surface adjacent to the other end of the transmission body, and has a refractive index less than that of the transmission body. After light enters the transmission body from one end, under the matching of the reflecting portion and the microstructure portion, the light travels in the transmission body along a path; and before leaving the transmission body from the other end, light greater than a specific angle is absorbed and eliminated by the light filter, thus highly collimating and uniform light is emitted.

    Abstract: A converting device converts an unpolarized incident light into a polarized emitting light. The converting device includes a polarizing or polarization beam splitter, a converting module, and a retroreflector. The polarizing or polarization beam splitter splits the unpolarized incident light into a first polarization wave and a second polarization wave, the polarizing or polarization beam splitter reflecting the first polarization wave and allowing the second polarization passing through thereon. The converting module receives the second polarization wave and converting the polarization direction of the second polarization wave to match or approximate a polarization direction of the first polarization wave, and guiding the converted second polarization wave to an output direction.     Abstract: A sunlight-collecting system is disclosed, which includes a plurality of lenses changing the angle of an incident sunlight, a wedged light guide plate (LGP) receiving the incident sunlight passing through a lens of the plurality of lenses and a holder fixing the lens of the plurality of lenses at a desired position corresponding the LGP. The structures, materials and desired positions of the lens and LGP make the incident sunlight passing through the lens and then going into the LGP perform total internal reflection (TIR) transmission in the LGP and then concentrate at one end of the LGP. The present sunlight-collecting system changes the corresponding lens to the desired position to keep the above TIR transmission condition, depending on the initial angle of the incident sunlight. In other words, the present sunlight-collecting system collects sunlight by changing corresponding lens instead of using sunlight tracking methods.

A light transmissive substrate is provided and has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. Then, a plurality of first rod-shaped lenses are formed on the first surface. The rod-shaped lenses extend along a first direction and are arranged along a second direction. After that, a plurality of second stripe-shaped prisms are formed on the second surface. The stripe-shaped prisms extend along the second direction and are arranged along the first direction. Next, an electromagnetic wave beam is made to pass through the rod-shaped lenses, the light transmissive substrate and the stripe-shaped prisms in sequence. A first portion of each of the stripe-shaped prisms exposes and leaves a second portion of each of the stripe-shaped prisms unexposed. Then, the second portions of the stripe-shaped prisms are removed.

The second TIR surface connects the first and third TIR surfaces.
