    Abstract: A piston operated valve utilizes a piston which is driven by high pressure air to open or close the valve. The valve includes valve body portions (7, 8) which are formed of carbon fibre containing fluorocarbon resin, and which are detachably mounted on a valve rod (6). Where the valve is used in a duct system which passes a fluid such as a hot steam, the materials chosen provide a high degree of sealing performance, durability, heat and pressure resistance. The detachable mounting of the valve body facilitates the maintenance.
