    Abstract: A method for selecting an appropriate transport format combination in a wireless transmission unit suitable for use in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes the steps of sorting all possible transport format combinations, comparing their transport relative power parameters with a reference relative power parameter to obtain a pointer, and selecting an appropriate transport format combination according to the pointer.
