  • Publication number: 20250007373
Abstract: An induction motor rotor includes a magnetic metal core; and an electrically conductive metal contiguous with the magnetic metal core. The electrically conductive metal includes rotor bars extending along the magnetic metal core and end segments formed onto opposite ends of the rotor bars. Each of the end segments includes a base section extending a first axial distance from the magnetic metal core and a protrusion extending a second axial distance from the magnetic metal core. The second axial distance is greater than the first axial distance. The induction motor rotor also includes a metal ring positioned on an outer circumferential surface of each of the end segments to prevent the end segments from separating from the rotor bars.

  • Patent number: 11451100
Abstract: A rotor for an electric motor includes an axis, a rotor carrier a plurality of rotor segments, a first end plate, a second end plate, and a spring element. The rotor carrier has a tubular portion with a cylindrical surface and a radial wall extending radially outwardly from the cylindrical surface. The plurality of rotor segments circumscribe the cylindrical surface. The first end plate is disposed at a first axial end of the plurality of rotor segments adjacent to the radial wall. The second end plate is disposed at a second axial end of the plurality of rotor segments. The spring element presses the first end plate, the plurality of rotor segments, and the second end plate against the radial wall. The spring element includes a ring portion and a plurality of segments extending axially from the ring portion.

  • Publication number: 20220194124
Abstract: An electric beam axle has a central housing around the electric motor and the differential gearing. Tubes are attached to each side of the central housing around the axle shafts. The tubes are attached to the central housing using butt welds. A portion of the central housing near the weld is designed to minimize stress concentrations. In particular, the region immediately adjacent to the weld has a constant thickness. Between the constant thickness region and the main part of the central housing is a tapered region.

  • Patent number: 11245318
Abstract: A two-piece resolver clamping plate includes a first clamping segment and a second clamping segment. The first clamping segment includes a first arcuate clamping ring and exactly three arcuate clamping arms extending from the first arcuate clamping ring. The second clamping segment includes a second arcuate clamping ring and exactly two arcuate clamping arms extending from the second arcuate clamping ring. In an example embodiment, a first circumferential length of the first arcuate clamping ring is greater than a second circumferential length of the second arcuate clamping ring.
