  • Patent number: 4123156
Abstract: Improved method and apparatus for forming an electrostatic latent image on a recording medium by the simultaneous projection of an ion current and exposure to image light, in which a control grid for controlling the ion current has a plurality of layers, including a photoconductive layer, a conductive layer, and an insulating layer. A first bias voltage is applied to the conductive layer to form an electric field which directs the ion current toward the recording medium, and a second bias voltage, higher than the first bias voltage, forms a second electric field in the control grid for controlling passage of the ions. The recording medium is adapted to absorb the image light thereon.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 19, 1977
Date of Patent: October 31, 1978
Assignee: Konishiroku Photo Industry Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Shigeru Inowa, Issei Nakamura, Tutomu Furuya
  • Patent number: 4090876
Abstract: A process for forming electrostatic latent images to be developed by a color toner. The process comprises steps of electrically charging a photoconductive layer of an ion-beam controlling screen, exposing the photoconductive layer electrically charged to a first image information, disposing a recording medium having a photoconductive layer so as to oppose to the exposed photoconductive layer, and applying ions to the photoconductive layer of the recording medium through the screen to form an electrostatic latent image having a background of charged potential. The photoconductive layer of the recording medium in which the electrostatic latent image is formed is exposed to a second image information to produce a corrected electrostatic latent image.

Date of Patent: May 23, 1978
