    Abstract: It is an object of the invention to enable a maintenance work to be executed with appropriate timing. When jam occurrence is detected by jam sensors placed in a plurality of positions in a sheet transporting path, a control section changes a display state such as a shape and a blinking period of a mark in a display section, in accordance with history information which is stored in a storage section. When the display contents of the display section is visually checked, the part where the jam has occurred can be identified from the display position of the mark, and the jam occurrence history in the part can be known from the shape and the blinking period of the mark. Therefore, it is possible to correctly judge the necessity of a maintenance work.
