  • Patent number: 9290072
Abstract: In an arrangement for holding a first fastening element and a second fastening element on an axle element for an axle of a motor vehicle, in particular of a utility vehicle, the first fastening element arranged on a first side of the axle element and intended to support a spring mechanism of the axle is held on the axle element. The second fastening element is arranged on a second side of the axle element facing away from the first side and is used to support a bracket engaging, at least partially, around the axle element and intended for fastening the spring mechanism on the axle element is held on the axle element. At least one of the fastening elements is joined to the axle element by a welding rivet.

  • Publication number: 20140356101
Abstract: A weld rivet joint between one or more components and a base component is provided. The one or more components have a hole through which a weld rivet having a head projects with its shank. The shank is welded to the surface of the base component by its end face and is plastically deformed. The weld rivet has a shank that is shorter than its head diameter, and in a transition region between head and shank a continuous annular recess is provided for the accommodation of material displaced in the riveting process and/or for tolerance compensation.

  • Publication number: 20100025951
Abstract: The invention relates to an axle journal (1) which is connected to a vehicle body and which comprises an approximately rotation-symmetrical bearing journal (3) which can be connected to a wheel (5) of the vehicle. The invention also relates to a method for producing an axle journal (1). According to the invention, the axle journal is embodied in a divided manner, comprising an axle journal base body (7) and bearing journals (3), which penetrate a corresponding opening (9) in the axle journal base body (7), in order to meet the requirements of the high component stresses and to produce the axle journal (1) in an economical manner. The bearing journals (3) comprise a journal part (11) and a counter part (13), which are connected together inside the opening (9) by means of a press welding method.

  • Patent number: 6656079
Abstract: A differential gear includes a differential housing consisting of cast iron and a differential crown wheel consisting of case hardened steel. The differential gear, while being of reproducible quality, can be produced simply and cost-effectively. The differential housing has, on the circumference onto which the differential crown wheel is pressed, a bearing shoulder, to which the differential crown wheel is fastened via a nickel-containing welded joint. The composition of the welded joint is influenced by the use of a nickel-containing additional material which is added to the welding melt in the form of an annular foil arranged between the bearing shoulder and the differential crown wheel.

  • Patent number: 6378761
Abstract: A process for joining or welding components made from case-hardened steel to one another or to components made from cast iron uses a nickel-containing filler. The components are not prepared for the welding operation, i.e., the components do not undergo at least partial abrasion of surfaces to be joined.
