  • Patent number: 4772079
Abstract: The combination of an electronic device to be mounted in a vehicle, such as a cellular car phone, citizen band radio and the like, and a cover assembly for at least partially enclosing a housing for the device wherein the cover assembly includes separable top and bottom sections. Each section has integrally formed attachment means engageable with complementary attachment means formed on the housing. The housing is also provided with a rotatable cam element for engagement with a slot formed in the bottom cover section for releasably locking the cover assembly to the housing. The bottom cover section may also serve as a the mounting frame for securing the device to a support surface in a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4609785
Abstract: An improved arrangement for mounting a telephone handset in a plurality of orientations comprises a wedge-shaped mounting plate and cooperating L-shaped handset hanger. The mounting plate is generally square in plan form with a base generally perpendicular to the sides and an inclined upper face. The base and upper face each are provided with four sockets in a back-to-back arrangement, pairs of which share common axes perpendicular to the base. The handset hanger has a pair of rearwardly projecting bosses which mate with a pair of sockets of either face to provide at least five different orientations of the handset hanger with respect to the mounting plate to accommodate differently sloped surfaces upon which the mounting plate may be secured.

  • Patent number: 4456321
Abstract: A two-piece, push-on type grounding clip for grounding a conductor (e.g. the shield of a shielded line or cable) to a metallic wall has a first, U-shaped, resilient metal clamp having an open end adapted for engagement with the edge of a metallic wall. The closed end of the first clamp has a transverse groove for receiving the conductor (e.g. a shielded cable). The walls forming the transverse groove are shaped and/or sized to cut the cable insulation (if any) and to form a secure electrical contact with a cable conductor (e.g. the shield of the cable). A second U-shaped resilient clamp has an open end with a transverse groove for receiving both the closed end of the first clamp and the conductor (e.g. shielded cable). The second clamp prevents the cable from backing out of the transverse groove of the first clamp and also exerts additional pressure on the first clamp's engagement with the metallic wall.
