  • Patent number: 11243050
Abstract: A plate carrier (such as a vest) is provided having shock absorption capabilities for absorbing shock in response to movement of a plate within the carrier resulting from movement of the wearer. The plate carrier can include a cradle that supports the plate within a pocket from underneath. Stretchable material may be incorporated into the cradle to provide shock absorption. For example, the cradle may include a limit strap hanging to form a first loop and a shock-absorption strap hanging to form a second loop spaced above the first loop. The shock-absorption strap may be formed from a material more stretchable than the limit strap, for example, so that the limit strap provides a limit of plate deflection and shock absorption provided.

  • Patent number: 9839279
Abstract: Attachment apparatus for mounting a pouch to the straps of a support article, such as a chest rig, harness, backpack or the like. The attachment apparatus includes pair of locking tab and cord loops mounted to a pouch that couple together around the straps of a support article to secure the pouch to the support article. The locking tabs have a main section and a distal end that folds back over the main section and is bar tacked together so that the distal end lays back over the main section to form a “locking end.” The locking tab extends through the tab loop and is interposed between the main section and the overlying distal end.

  • Publication number: 20140201879
Abstract: A detachable side plate carrier for use with articles that support ballistic body armor plates. The side plate carrier uses a fold-over/wrap-around” design to accommodate ballistic side plates of various sizes and dimensions and can support those side plates in either a vertical or horizontal orientation. The side plate carrier is constructed for durable fabrics sewn in a cruciform shape forming side, top and bottom flaps that can be folded and wrapped around a ballistic side plate. The flaps are held together using hook and loop fasteners on opposite sides of each flap.

  • Publication number: 20130126566
Abstract: The attachment lattice provides an attachment substructure for support articles, such as vests, carriers and packs and allows molle compatible modular pockets, pouches and other accessories to be readily attached to the support article, but eliminates the need for a backing material, thereby reducing the weight and bulk of the support article, while still maintaining the ability to attach MOLLE compatible accessories to the lattice. In one embodiment, the attachment lattice is formed by vertical rows of thin webbing or edge binding sewn to the horizontal rows of evenly spaced nylon webbing. In another embodiment, the attachment lattice is formed by the array openings being die cut directly in the fabric material. The attachment lattice of this invention also allows MOLLE compatible accessories to be mounted on either side of the lattice, which effectively increases the capacity and modularity of the support article.

  • Publication number: 20100199927
Abstract: A vest for canines or other animals is provided. The vest includes a jacket that includes a top member and a bottom member with portions releasably secured to one another. One or more expander panels can be provided to be releasably secured between portions of the jacket to selectively change the girth dimension of the jacket. The vest may also be provided with devices for attaching various auxiliary items to the vest in a releasable manner. Carriage devices can also be provided for facilitating handling of the dog or other animal by its handler or lift devices. Such carriage devices can include loops adapted for attachment to shoulder straps, gripping by a handler's hands or by a lift device. Redundant securement devices are provided to ensure portions of the jacket do not separate unintentionally. The jacket is adapted for use with a tail harness and the collar is adjustable to prevent the vest from slipping off the canine or other animal.
