Patent number: 11596346Abstract: A technology is described for determining an intended movement from neuromuscular signals. An example method (800) includes receiving electromyography (EMG) data corresponding to single-ended channels of an electrode array (810), where EMG signals are detected by electrodes comprising the single-ended channels of the electrode array and the EMG signals are converted to the EMG data. Determining differential channel pairs for the single-ended channels of the electrode array (820) and extracting feature data from the EMG data of the differential channel pairs (830). Thereafter a feature data set is selected from the feature data of the differential channel pairs (840) and the feature data set is input to a decode model configured to correlate the feature data set to an intended movement (850). Decode output is received from the decode model indicating the intended movement (860) and the decode output is provided to a device (870).Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2017Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Assignee: University of Utah Research FoundationInventors: Suzanne Wendelken, Tyler Davis, David Page, David Kluger, David Warren, Gregory Clark, Christopher Duncan, Jacob Nieveen

Publication number: 20210135489Abstract: The present inventive concepts comprise a connected, intelligent transfer switch system that permits remote metering, monitoring and control of energy sources connected to a device both by hardwired and wireless connection, and the method for operating this system is disclosed. The inventive concepts represent a significant improvement upon existing transfer switch systems by incorporating advanced monitoring and control capabilities of all energy resources connected to a building, such as fossil-fuel powered generators, battery storage systems, solar photovoltaic arrays, wind turbines, utility grid connections, controllable loads, or other technologies which generate, store or consume energy. The inventive concepts further provide means for flexible and intelligent operation of these resources through a dedicated network communication connection which enables advanced operational decision-making to determine optimal switching actions and real-time interaction through user-facing digital interfaces.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 15, 2021Publication date: May 6, 2021Inventors: Cole Stites-Clayton, Ugwem Eneyo, Tyler Davis

Publication number: 20180073208Abstract: Operational data from vehicles operating over a haul road at a work site may be used to determine when road conditions exist that require maintenance to be performed on the haul road. As the vehicles travel over the haul road, sensors transmit sensor signals with the operational data for locations along the road. An electronic control module (ECM) of each vehicle determines road quality indicators for the locations and compares the road quality indicators to predetermined road quality indicator limits. When two or more vehicles determine that a road quality indicator at a location is outside the predetermined road quality indicator limits, or if the same vehicle determines that a road quality indicator at the location is outside the predetermined road quality indicator limits, a road maintenance request message may be generated that will result in the necessary maintenance to be performed at the location.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2016Publication date: March 15, 2018Applicant: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Jeremy J. Wilson, Tyler Davis

Publication number: 20160214778Abstract: A clamshell packaging for scented wax can serve as a tray when warming the wax within a candle warmer. The clamshell packaging can be shaped and sized to fit within a dish of a candle warmer and can be made of a heat conducting material. In this way, the user can place the packaging directly in the dish of a candle warmer so that the wax is melted within the packaging rather than within the dish. After the wax has been used, the user can simply remove the packaging from the dish and throw it away. The clamshell packaging can include a lid with a number of vents to allow the wax within the base to be heated while the lid is secured over the base. These vents can be configured to control the rate at which the scent within the wax is emitted from the clamshell packaging.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 22, 2015Publication date: July 28, 2016Inventors: Jeff Goodsell, Tyler Davis, Todd Wilson
