  • Publication number: 20100114119
Abstract: The present embodiments provide apparatus and systems suitable for coupling a graft member to tissue. A wire having a proximal end and a distal end are provided, each having a delivery state suitable for delivery and further comprising a deployed state. In the deployed state, the distal end is configured to engage tissue at a first location, and the proximal end is configured to engage the graft member to secure the graft member to the tissue. Optionally, a loop member may be provided for receiving a suture for further securing the graft member to the tissue. The present embodiments may also be used without a graft member to close openings in tissue.

  • Publication number: 20090193961
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for the manufacture of composite lattice structures comprising a weaving mechanism 104 configured to position fibers in a lattice structure, the weaving mechanism 104 comprising one or more bobbins 304, each one or more bobbin 304 configured to carry fiber and a plurality of horn gears 302 configured to move the one or more bobbins 304 across the face of the weaving mechanism 104 to control the position of the fiber carried by the one or more bobbins 304 in the lattice structure, and a shape retention structure 108 configured to hold the fibers in lattice structure. Beneficially, such an apparatus, system, and method would automate the process of manufacturing composite lattice structures and reduce the costs associated with the existing methods for manufacturing such structures.

  • Patent number: 5169002
Abstract: An organization including an elongate, flexible web mounting medially of its length a transparent cylinder defined by a predetermined length less than that of the web, wherein each web accordingly includes a respective first and second flap overlying respective first and second ends of the cylinder, wherein each first and second flap includes a respective first and second hook and loop fastener surface coextensive therewith. The cylinder includes a respective second and third hook and loop fastener surface mounted to an exterior surface of the cylinder diametrically opposed to that of the web to receive and secure a respective flap thereon. The cylinder includes a respective blind bore directed interiorly of the cylinder from each end of a length less than that of the cylinder, wherein the tubes are arranged offset and parallel relative to one another. Each tube includes an associated indicator marker and receives an associated wire of a pacemaker, notably the atrial wire leads and the ventricular wire leads.
