    Abstract: Provided in this disclosure is a firearm retention mechanism, for securely retaining a firearm within the internal contact surfaces of a holster. An ejector port lock of the firearm retention mechanism engages an ejector port of the firearm in an engagement position, to prevent rearward movement of the firearm out of the holster. A hood of the firearm retention mechanism contacts a rear face of the firearm against rearward movement and thereby secures the firearm into the holster in the engagement position. An internal actuator of the firearm retention mechanism performs a first operation of disposing the hood into a disengagement position from the rear face of the firearm and a second operation of releasing the ejector port lock from the ejector port, thereby permitting rearward movement of the firearm out of the holster.

The internal contact surfaces are conformed to the shape of a predetermined firearm design, in order to securely receive and retain the firearm within the inner holster. An external mating surface defines an exterior of the inner holster. An outer holster has an interior defined by an internal mating surface for receiving and engaging with the external mating surface of the inner holster. The internal and external mating surfaces are configured to encircle the first and second holster components, and thereby securely receive and retain the inner holster within the outer holster.

    Abstract: Provided in this disclosure is a method for manufacturing a customizable holster. Steps are provided of molding inner holster components, including molding internal surfaces that conform to shapes of respective portions of a desired firearm design. Other substeps include molding external surfaces that conform to the shape of portions of an external mating surface of an inner holster. The inner holster components are mated to form an inner holster having an internal contact surface that conforms to the firearm design, to securely receive and retain a respective firearm within the inner holster. An outer holster is molded having an interior defined by an internal mating surface that conforms with the external mating surface of the inner holster. The inner holster is then mated to the outer holster such that the external mating surface of the inner holster is received within the internal mating surface of the outer holster.

The ASIC includes memory that stores condition data defining conditions for enabling transitions among a plurality of states and next state data defining a next state associated with each of the respective conditions. A state machine circuit employs the condition data and the next state data to transition from a current state of the state machine circuit to a next state as a function of applying at least one condition relative to input data. The at least one condition is defined by condition data that is associated with the current state. The state machine circuit associates next state data with the at least one condition based on the current state of the state machine circuit. A control circuit provides a trigger signal in response to the current state of the state machine circuit transitioning to at least one predefined state of the plurality of states.
