  • Publication number: 20220173469
Abstract: A battery system for providing electric power to a vehicle includes an assembly having battery cells. The battery system also includes a shear wall that is arranged along a lateral side of the assembly to provide structural support. The shear wall is two-part, including a first element and a second element, both of which may be formed from sheet metal and welded together. The first element has a first flange extending away from the lateral side of the assembly, and the second element has a second flange. The first flange and the second flange are layered together to form an interface. The flanges are welded together at the interface, proximal to the assembly, to form a resulting flange that is thicker than either individual flange and that may be mounted to a frame member. The battery system may also include another shear wall on the opposite lateral side.

  • Patent number: 11118948
Abstract: A system and method for displaying a placement array of calibration locations, including capturing image data of a target object located in a workspace using an optical sensor communicatively coupled to a processor. Classification data is received from a database, based on the image data of on the target object within the view of the optical sensor. An origin point of the placement array of calibration locations based on the image data is determined. A plurality of calibration positions for the workspace in relation to the origin point is retrieved from the database, where the calibration locations are based on the classification data from the image data. The placement array of calibration locations is displayed on a display communicatively coupled to the processor in an augmented reality depiction of the workspace, where the placement array of calibration locations is oriented in the workspace based on the origin point.

  • Patent number: 10702895
Abstract: Provided are molds, comprising non-metal base portions and protective optical layers that cover and shield these base portions from laser ablation. For example, a protective optical layer may reflect a laser beam used for ablating the mold. Methods of forming these protective optical layers on non-metal base portions are also provided. In some embodiments, this protective optical layer is the outermost layer exposed to the environment. Alternatively, the protective optical layer may be covered by a release layer. The release layer may be retained or removed during laser ablation. In some embodiments, light emitted by a mold during laser ablation is analyzed to determine performance of its protective optical layer. This feedback may be used to control the laser ablation such as to control orientation of the laser beam relative to the mold.
