  • Publication number: 20250147561
Abstract: This document describes an electronic device with a chassis and a vapor chamber positioned within the chassis. The vapor chamber includes a base plate and a cap portion attached to the base plate to form a sealed chamber. The base plate extends outward beyond the sealed chamber to form an extended portion with a first edge attached to a sidewall of the chassis and a second edge, in the form of a mechanical flange, connected to the chassis. The base plate with the extended portion forms the floor of a battery compartment within the chassis and provides a thermal path between the vapor chamber and the chassis. By integrating the vapor chamber into the structural components, the need for a separate mid-plate is eliminated, allowing for a thinner device that efficiently dissipates heat while maintaining structural rigidity.

  • Publication number: 20240380050
Abstract: This document describes systems and techniques directed at a battery chassis for electronic devices. In aspects, a battery is attached to a battery chassis that mechanically interlocks with a mechanical frame of an electronic device. The battery chassis includes a plurality of shear stops that constrain a motion of the battery chassis and battery subassembly in at least two dimensions. The battery chassis and battery subassembly can be removed from the electronic device without severing an adhesive, facilitating device repair.

  • Publication number: 20230409081
Abstract: This document describes systems and techniques for narrow display borders using a display-to-frame interposer (“interposer”). In aspects, the interposer is bonded, on a first side, to a mechanical frame. On a second side, the interposer is bonded to a backside of a display panel module, including a folded portion, and supports a cover layer through the display panel module. In such a configuration, a display border, which extends from an edge of the cover layer to an active area of the display panel module and resides above the folded portion, can be reduced.
