Abstract: A patient turning sheet includes a flexible rectangular bottom sheet that has a surface area sized to support the majority of the body of a person lying on the patient turning sheet. A flexible rectangular top sheet is sewn to the bottom sheet and has a surface area less than the surface area of the bottom sheet. The top sheet is sewn to the bottom sheet, offset toward the head end of the turning sheet to be positioned at the area of maximum contact and load of the patient on the turning sheet. A foam pad is disposed between the bottom sheet and the top sheet that is relatively less flexible than the bottom or top sheets.

Abstract: A pediatric air mattress adapted for therapeutic usage, including a first air bladder and a second air bladder each respectively including at least one plastic liner defining an outer edge about which the liners are sealed to define a first air chamber within the first air bladder and a second air chamber within the second air bladder. The mattress includes first and second two-way valves through which air is selectively imported to and exported from the first air chamber and the second air chamber, respectively. The first and second air bladders respectively define a first plurality and a second plurality of apertures therethrough. The second air bladder is attached to and superposes the first air bladder such that the second air bladder is supported by the first air bladder.

Abstract: A positioning device including a glide sheet including handles that are located inwardly of glide sheet peripheral edges, whereby patient extremity entanglements with the handles are avoided and SPH practices are promoted. According to one embodiment the handles are integrally formed into the bottom side surface of the glide sheet. According to another embodiment, the handles are located between the top side surface and the bottom side surface of the glide sheet. Also, a positioning system including such a positioning device used with one or more removable, elongate handle assemblies, and/or a replaceable, moisture-absorbent pad, with such a pad optionally including first and second longitudinally extending adhesive strips that are laterally spaced to locations in proximity to the laterally opposite edges of the pad.
