Patent number: 11613331Abstract: This disclosure extends to systems, apparatus, and methods for sports board hydrofoil masts and mast-to-fuselage connection assemblies for hydrofoil sports boards. In one exemplary system, a hydrofoil mast formed as an elongated member may include a securing structure disposed in a lower region and a fuselage may include a recess into which the mast is inserted. A securing assembly may be disposed in the fuselage for actuation to secure the mast to the fuselage by interacting with the securing structure on the mast. The securing assembly may include a cam member or locking member and an actuating member. Unique hydrofoil masts constructed from composite materials having reinforcing metal members are disclosed and may be useful in the connection assemblies.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2021Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: Bi-Thermal Aspen Earth, L.L.C.Inventors: Tyler Lyon, Aaron Best

Patent number: 11608145Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and methods for hydrofoil assemblies with planing blades that may be adjusted, and securely maintained in varying tilts with respect to a support member, using a curved indexing system with a curved ridge and a counterpart groove that utilize interacting position retaining elements to retain a desired tilt in different adjustable positions. In one illustrative system, a planing blade may have a convexly curved ridge disposed on a surface thereof with a series of transverse grooves disposed in the curved ridge. A support member may have a counterpart concavely curved receiver with a series of counterpart transverse grooves formed therein. When a user places the planing blade in position with the convex ridge contacting the concave receiver, the blade may be tilted to a desired position. The counterpart transverse grooves interconnect to provide an indexed positive interlock, securely maintaining the blade in the desired position.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2021Date of Patent: March 21, 2023Assignee: Bi-Thermal Aspen Earth, L.L.C.Inventor: Tyler Lyon

Patent number: 11608146Abstract: This disclosure extends to systems, apparatus, and methods for quick release mast mounting assemblies for board mounted hydrofoil assemblies. In one exemplary system, a quick release mounting assembly may include board mountable base receiver for mounting to a sports board, which defines a longitudinal receiving recess. A resilient locking member is disposed at a front end of the base receiver. A separate mast connection member formed as a body configured for connection to an upper end of a hydrofoil mast, corresponds to the longitudinal receiving recess, and includes a counterpart structure for forming a secure connection with the resilient locking member. The mast connection member may include opposite shoulder or wing members that extend laterally orthogonal to the longitudinal axis thereof and the receiving recess may include counterpart slots for receiving these members. The resilient locking member may include a separate spring assembly or be a unitary member.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2021Date of Patent: March 21, 2023Assignee: Bi-Thermal Aspen Earth, L.L.C.Inventors: Tyler Lyon, Aaron Best

Patent number: 11607036Abstract: Systems and apparatus for heating or cooling food. A heating and cooling system for operative connection to a well includes a first manifold having a plurality of openings, each allowing a seal to be made against a first surface of a Peltier chip, and defines a flow path for a heat transfer fluid which directly contacts the first surfaces of a plurality of Peltier chips. The fluid circulates through tubing from the manifold to the well and connects to a flow space of a tray disposed therein. A second opposite manifold may be joined to the first manifold to form a block and defines a second flow path allowing direct contact with the second surfaces of the plurality of Peltier chips. The fluid circulates through tubing from the second manifold to a radiator. The manifolds may be joined to form a manifold block. The trays may be interchangeable.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2017Date of Patent: March 21, 2023Assignee: BI-POLAR HOLDING COMPANY LLCInventors: Jeffrey Turner, Tyler Lyon

Publication number: 20220281558Abstract: This disclosure extends to systems, apparatus, and methods for hydrofoil assemblies with components that may be constructed from multiple materials to achieve reduced weight and/or portion with relatively less rigidity. In one exemplary system, a planing blade has as underlying framework or first structural body including rib elements that define voids. The first structural body may be formed from a relatively stiff and rigid first material to provide strength and rigidity to the component. The voids are filled and at least a portion of the framework covered by a second relatively softer and more flexible material. The second material may cover one or more edges of the planning blade. In some embodiments, a mast member may have a structural member formed from a relatively stiff and rigid first material with at least a portion of the member covered by a second relatively softer and more flexible material.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2022Publication date: September 8, 2022Applicant: BI-THERMAL ASPEN EARTH, L.L.C.Inventors: Tyler Lyon, Aaron Best

Patent number: 10405650Abstract: Systems for heating or cooling a food service container to an appropriate temperature for service or transport, and cabinets including such systems. A first manifold allows a seal to be made against a first surface of one or more Peltier chips and defines a flow path for a heat transfer fluid which directly contacts the first surfaces of the Peltier chips. The fluid circulates through tubing from the first manifold to a first radiator. A second opposite manifold defines a flow path for a heat transfer fluid which directly contacts the second surfaces of the Peltier chips. The fluid then circulates through tubing from the second manifold to a second radiator. The first radiator may be disposed inside, and the second radiator outside, the cabinet. Application of current in a first direction to the Peltier chips can heat the cabinet and reversal of the current may cool the cabinet.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2015Date of Patent: September 10, 2019Assignee: Bi-Polar Holdings Company, LLCInventors: Jeffrey Turner, Tyler Lyon, Daniel Winegar
