  • Patent number: 8162666
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, multiple networked gaming devices can participate in a secondary type game. A primary game such as poker, rotatable wheels, wheel of fortune or the like is initiated on a gaming device. A predetermined outcome (for example) of the primary game is then used to qualify the gaming device for a secondary type game. A predetermined outcome might be a wheel of fortune SPIN symbol, for example. Once the gaming device is qualified, a secondary game indication cycle is triggered. During this cycle, additional gaming devices can then qualify for the secondary type game by using one or more predetermined primary game outcomes, for example. The secondary type game is then initiated and a secondary game payout awarded to the gaming devices.

  • Publication number: 20100120485
Abstract: Each player earns eligibility into a bonus game by playing a primary game. The play of the bonus game occurs while each player never stops play of the primary game. During the play of the bonus game, each player has the chance to win bonus awards and competes against other players who have qualified to play the bonus game. Each player plays for his traditional pay table awards and for bonus game awards, which are predetermined or randomly selected winning outcomes which are designated as bonus game outcomes. When a qualified player matches one of the bonus game outcomes with a primary game outcome, the player wins the traditional primary game award and the bonus award associated with the bonus game outcome.

  • Publication number: 20060277100
Abstract: In one embodiment, techniques for awarding random rewards in a reward program are provided. An event is determined that qualifies the user for a reward in the reward program. A random reward is then generated for the reward program. For example, parameters may be determined that are used to generate the random reward. The random reward is then awarded to the user. In one example, the number of points the user receives may be randomly generated and awarded to the user in the reward program. Thus, user interest may be increased for the reward program, which also may lead to an increase in purchasing of a business's goods and/or services.

  • Publication number: 20060160612
Abstract: A method of providing a game for a gaming device is provided. The method includes providing a plurality of average values. Average values in the plurality of average values represent different values of a prize pool. A wager amount and an input to initiate game play are received. An average value is selected from the plurality of average values and a random award is determined from the prize pool. The random award is determined from the average value selected from the plurality of average values.

  • Publication number: 20060148547
Abstract: An electronic gaming device having a plurality of games available for selection by a user allows selection of multiple games for concurrent play. One or more of the multiple games selected by the user in turn are utilized to create composite pay tables. These selection-dependant pay tables in turn provide the basis for additional betting opportunities for the user. The networking of multiple electronic gaming devices having the concurrent play feature provides multiple users with the betting opportunities embodied in these composite pay tables.

  • Publication number: 20050101384
Abstract: A multi-player secondary gaming method and system. The method enables multiple networked gaming devices to participate in a secondary game. In accordance with this method, a gaming device is provided by which a player can initiate a primary game. The primary game may be poker, video slot, and traditional slot such as rotatable reels, wheel of fortune or the like. The gaming device is qualified to participate in a secondary game by using a predetermined primary game outcome or indicia, such as a SPIN symbol on the popular wheel of fortune game. Once the gaming device is qualified, a secondary game indication cycle is triggered after qualification of the gaming device. Additional gaming devices are qualified to participate in the secondary game by using at least one predetermined primary game outcome, and the additional gaming devices are qualified during the secondary game indication cycle. For each additional gaming device that is qualified, the secondary game payout award is increased by a value.
