  • Publication number: 20230010818
Abstract: An implantable medical device includes an electrode and an insulative material secured to the electrode via an adhesive. The electrode includes a metal substrate and a metal coating. The metal substrate includes a connection segment and an active segment along a length of the metal substrate. The metal coating is disposed on an outer surface of the metal substrate along the connection segment and the active segment. The insulative material surrounds the connection segment of the metal substrate without surrounding the active segment, and the adhesive adheres to the metal coating on the connection segment.

  • Patent number: 10201699
Abstract: A therapy lead has a distal header, a helix-shaft assembly, and a ring seal. The distal header has a cylindrical passage, and the helix-shaft assembly has a shaft and a helical anchor distally extending from the shaft. The shaft extends through the cylindrical passage. The ring seal circumferentially extends about the shaft and inside the cylindrical passage. The ring seal has a proximal face, a distal face, an outer circumferential surface, an inner circumferential surface, and a side wall. The distal face is opposite the proximal face. The outer circumferential surface extends between the proximal face and distal face. The inner circumferential surface is opposite the outer circumferential surface and extends between the proximal face and distal face. The inner circumferential surface defines a center hole of the ring seal that extends between the proximal face and distal face.

  • Patent number: 9421360
Abstract: A medical device configured to be secured to an individual may include a housing containing one or more electrical components, and one or more leads electrically connected to the housing. Each lead may include an insulating jacket that surrounds a central core including one or more conductors, and at least one pressure-resisting member integrally formed with one or both of the insulating jacket or the central core. The pressure-resisting member is configured to resist one or more forces exerted into the central core. For example, the pressure-resisting member may include one or more of a suture-anchoring member or a lead-strengthening member.

  • Patent number: 8692559
Abstract: An interface device provides one or more electrical connection points disposed on a connector sleeve. The connection points provide electrical communication between a lead connector end of an implantable medical lead and one or more leads of a testing device in such a manner as to minimize potential damage to the lead connector end.

  • Publication number: 20140094890
Abstract: An implantable therapy lead employs electrical conductors configured to enhance the abrasion resistance of the lead. Specifically, conductors are configured to create a surface contact area with walls of a wall lumen of a tubular body that is greater than would otherwise be possible with traditional conductors that have a circular transverse cross-section. As a result, the abrasion pressure of the conductors against the lumen walls is decreased for the conductors disclosed herein as compared to that of traditional conductors.

  • Publication number: 20130021040
Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure involve an internal pulse generator for administering electrotherapy via an implantable medical lead having a lead connector end on a proximal end of the lead. In addition, implementations involve testing of the medical lead at the proximal lead connector end to ensure proper placement of the lead, and an interface device for facilitating the connection of the proximal lead connector end to a testing device. The interface device may provide for one or more electrical connection points disposed on a connector sleeve. The connection points provide electrical communication between the lead connector end of the lead and one or more leads of a testing device in such a manner as to minimize potential damage to the lead connector end.
