  • Patent number: 12127744
Abstract: An embolic coil implant having a stretch resistant fiber therethrough and dual-functional engagement feature at its proximal end is provided. The stretch resistant fiber can be effective to limiting separation of windings of the embolic coil. The engagement feature can provide an attachment for securing the embolic coil to an engagement system of a delivery tube and for securing the stretch resistant fiber at the proximal end of the embolic coil.

  • Patent number: 11878129
Abstract: A pull wire can be retracted from a catheter by using a retraction system having an opening sized to pass through the pull wire and engage the catheter, two clamps positioned around the pull wire, a shuttle on which the clamps are mounted, and a slider having at least one contact for contacting and moving one or both clamps. To retract the pull wire, the slider can be moved proximally, the contact(s) can engage one or both clamps on the shuttle, the clamps can move so that the clamps come together and grip the pull wire, and the slider can then be moved further proximally to translate the shuttle, clamps, and pull wire proximally thereby extracting the pull wire from the catheter. The shuttle and slider can subsequently be moved distally without translating the pull wire.

  • Publication number: 20230372611
Abstract: A medication delivery device (MDD) (e.g., injection pen, wearable pump) is paired with an external device (e.g., smart phone, iPad, computer) via wireless link or wireline connection. The MDD provides to the external device captured data from the flow sensor relating to medicine delivery to a patient to ensure complete delivery and minimize MDD misuse or malfunction or inaccuracies in dosing. The MDD can have Bluetoothâ„¢ and/or near field communication (NFC) communication circuits for proximity-based pairing and connectivity with the external device for real-time or deferred transfer of captured data to the external device, depending on memory and power availability at the MDD. The MDD or external device can use captured data and corresponding time stamps to determine flow infomatics such as flow rate, total dose delivered, and dose completion status. An LED on the MDD indicates states such as powered on, paired, delivery in progress and delivery completion.

  • Publication number: 20230210536
Abstract: Delivery and detachment system for an implantable intravascular device, the system including a securement wire in a passageway of an inner support tube. Imposed on the securement wire is a controlled friction force established within an intentional friction zone created by: (i) reflow of an outer sleeve through side port opening(s) in the inner support tube and into the passageway; or (ii) the securement wire having bend(s) creating an associated point(s) of direct physical contact with the inner wall of the inner support tube. During delivery of the implantable intravascular treatment device to a target site, the imposed controlled friction force minimizing movement of the securement wire relative to the inner support tube, and upon reaching the target site, a force being applied to overcome the imparted controlled friction force and releasing the implantable intravascular device.

  • Publication number: 20220117606
Abstract: An assembly at a proximal end of an intravascular delivery system can allow the proximal end of a pull wire to move independently of a delivery tube. The assembly can generally include the pull wire, the delivery tube, a feature to prevent the proximal end of the pull wire from becoming inaccessible due to distal movement of the pull wire, and a feature to protect the proximal end of the pull wire from inadvertent, premature manipulation. When the intravascular delivery system is navigating tortuous vasculature, the proximal end of the pull wire can move distally in relation to the proximal end of delivery tube, relieving stress on the distal end of the pull wire. The proximal end of the pull wire can be protected from inadvertent manipulation during delivery and made available for manipulation once the distal end of the delivery system is in place.

  • Patent number: 11285257
Abstract: An attachable needle assembly (2) is disclosed for use on a medication delivery pen (4). The needle assembly (2) includes a housing (8) enclosing a hub (12) that is configured to engage the medication delivery pen (4), a plurality of needles (18) configured to pierce a reservoir septum (6) of the medication delivery pen (4), a selection ring insert (30) that rotates and identifies which needle (24) of the plurality of needles (18) is to be selected, and a selection ring (36) that applies a force to expose the selected needle (24). When the housing (8) is in a first position, the plurality of needles (18) is not exposed, and when the housing (8) is in a second position, one of the plurality of needles (24) is exposed for medicament delivery.
