  • Patent number: 11739940
Abstract: A removable control panel console for a cooking appliance may include a front panel having upper fingers that hook onto apertures in a bullnose feature of the appliance. The control panel console is pivotable in this configuration, and may be secured to the appliance by raising the front panel to fully insert the fingers into the apertures and fastening a bottom wall of the control panel to the appliance. Side walls of the control panel console may include tabs that are received into corresponding slots in a front surface of the appliance, providing an additional alignment and security feature.

  • Patent number: 11497341
Abstract: A gas cooktop may include: a gas burner; a sensor configured to sense temperature of a cooking container heated by the gas burner; a valve configured to control flow rate of gas from a gas source to the gas burner; and a control system including circuitry. The control system may start operation of the gas burner; receive sensor signals from the sensor indicating the temperature of the cooking container; and based on received sensor signals representing the sensed temperature of the cooking container and a cooking profile indicating one or more durations and one or more temperatures, control the valve to change the gas flow rate to the gas burner.

  • Publication number: 20210388980
Abstract: Aspects and features of a burner for a cooking appliance include a first plate defining flame ports arranged in flow-sharing groups around a periphery of a combustion surface and a second plate coextensive with the first plate. Each plate is contoured so that the plates define an annular void within the burner. The annular void is fluidly coupled to the flame ports. In some aspects, each flow-sharing group includes clusters of flame ports, with each cluster including flame ports of two different diameters. The plates can each be made using the same tool such as a die, stamp, or mold, and the burner can be sized and installed in a cooking appliance so that it extends to cover a large portion of a wall of the cooking cavity of the appliance.

  • Patent number: 11035574
Abstract: Gas cooktops disclosed herein may include a proportional solenoid valve controlling gas flow to a gas burner, where the proportional solenoid valve has a continuously variable range of positions. A user interface (UI) element associated with the proportional solenoid valve may be utilized to control a linear voltage regulator having a continuously variable output voltage. The output voltage of the linear voltage regulator is coupled to a solenoid of the proportional solenoid valve, such that the gas flow to the gas burner has a linear relationship with the output voltage of the linear voltage regulator.

  • Patent number: 10948196
Abstract: A cooking appliance is provided, including a cooktop floor and a removable cooking vessel support system on the cooktop floor. The cooking vessel support system includes a support frame configured to support a cooking vessel above a gas burner, the support frame having at least a first arm supporting the gas burner above and spaced apart from the cooktop floor. The support frame includes an internal passageway in fluid communication with the gas burner and configured to draw primary air into the support frame at a location above the cooktop floor and to mix the primary air with an injected gas to provide an air-gas mixture. At least a portion of the internal passageway is formed in the first arm of the support frame such that the air-gas mixture is guided by the internal passageway through the first arm to the gas burner.

  • Patent number: 10948181
Abstract: A cooking appliance is provided, including a multi-level gas burner with a body having a lower burner section on a lower side and an upper burner section on an upper side. The lower burner section is separated from the upper burner section. The lower side of the body has a first injection point for receiving a first air-gas mixture for the lower burner section and a second injection point for receiving a second air-gas mixture for the upper burner section. The first injection point is partitioned from the second injection point thereby separating the first air-gas mixture from the second air-gas mixture. The body includes a passageway fluidly connecting the second injection point on the lower side of the body to the upper burner section on the upper side of the body.

  • Publication number: 20200340675
Abstract: Improvements for a gas burner bar are provided utilizing reduced parts, easier assembly, and greater reliability. In one or more implementations a portion of an air shutter is disposed between two parts of an injector assembly: an injector and an injector fitting. Assembly in this manner results in proper alignment of the injector assembly thus negating problems that arise with misalignment.
