An exemplary method includes performing a first etch process to differentially etch a gate material to a recessed surface, wherein the recessed surface includes a first horn at a first edge, a second horn at a second edge, and a valley located between the first horn and the second horn; depositing an etch-retarding layer over the recessed surface, wherein the etch-retarding layer has a central region over the valley and has edge regions over the horns, and wherein the central region of the etch-retarding layer is thicker than the edge regions of the etch-retarding layer; and performing a second etch process to recess the horns to establish the gate material with a desired profile.

According to another method, after the luma block and the chroma block are partitioned using different partition tress, determine whether one or more exception conditions to allow an LM for a target chroma leaf block are satisfied when the chroma partition tree uses a different split type, a different partition direction, or both from the luma partition tree.

    Abstract: Methods for grouping MTC devices in MTC networks are proposed. One of the proposed methods includes grouping femto MTC devices into femto groups and grouping macro MTC devices into macro groups, where each of the assigned groups has its granted interval for delivering MTC messages. In the proposed method, it may detect network overload of each group or unsuccessful access request of each device, and statistically count consecutively accumulated number of occurrence of the CN overload of each group or accumulated number of occurrence of unsuccessful access request retries of each device. The group numbers, cycle time, and access probability of the macro groups or the femto groups may be adjusted according to the aforementioned accumulated numbers. In addition, the macro groups or the femto groups are merged or split according to determination based on the statistical counts.

The service interface includes an upload element, a download element and a command element. The contents are converted into web page documents and forwarded to a network platform for further processing associated tasks. The presentation on the service interface may replace the browsers and achieve the function of supporting the participation-typed service. It simplifies the complexity on the network access interface, and can access different services provided by different servers.

Firstly, when a base station or a core network entity determines that a communication mode between a transmitter and a receiver should be switched from a cellular communication mode to a device-to-device communication mode, the base station sends a control message to the transmitter. Next, the transmitter stops transmitting at least one first packet to the base station in response to the control message.
