  • Patent number: 8928807
Abstract: Playback control methods and systems are provided. At least one picture is obtained. The picture corresponds to a frame, and the picture includes a first region and a second region adjacent to the first region. It is determined whether at least one pixel in the first region has a predefined color, and whether at least one pixel in the second region has the predefined color. When the pixel in the first region has the predefined color and the pixel in the second region does not have the predefined color, the first region is removed, and the second region is enlarged to cover an original position of the first region. The enlarged second region is then played back via an anamorphic lens.

  • Patent number: 8322865
Abstract: A projection apparatus including an illumination system, a light valve, and a color filtering module is provided. The illumination system is capable of emitting an illumination beam. The light valve is disposed in the transmission path of the illumination beam and capable of converting the illumination beam into an image beam. The color filtering module is disposed in the transmission path of the illumination beam between the illumination system and the light valve and includes a plurality of colored filters and a gray filter. The gray filter is capable of reducing the intensity of the illumination beam passing through the gray filter. An image adjustment method is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7944457
Abstract: An image display method adapted for a digital display apparatus is provided. The image display method includes the steps of: first, detecting a maximum average picture level of each picture displayed by the digital display apparatus; judging whether the maximum average picture level is larger than a reference value; determining a displaying mode of each picture according to the judgment. The image display method is adapted for improving the displaying quality of a digital display apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20090115894
Abstract: A video playback control method adapted for a video playback device including the following steps. First, at least one source frame is fetched, with the source frame being corresponding to the video content that is to be displayed on the video playback device. Next, a first aspect ratio of the source frame is compared with a second aspect ratio of the video playback device, and the source frame is directly displayed on the video playback device when the first aspect ratio is the same as the second aspect ratio. Also, when the first aspect ratio is different to the second aspect ratio, the periphery of the source frame is overscanned.

  • Publication number: 20060066819
Abstract: A single reflective light valve projection device comprising a non-telecentric lighting system, a projection lens and a reflective light valve is provided. The non-telecentric lighting system comprises a light source and a lens. The light source provides a light beam. The lens is disposed in the transmission path of the light beam. The projection lens is disposed behind the lens and in the transmission path of the light beam. The reflective light valve is disposed between the lens of the non-telecentric lighting system and the projection lens and in the transmission path of the light beam. The reflective light valve comprises many horizontally aligned rows of pixels. A line joining the center of the projection lens to the center of the lens forms an angle smaller than ?/4 with respect to a horizontal line to provide side projection in the horizontal direction.

  • Publication number: 20050190344
Abstract: A projection apparatus includes a base, a main body and a reflective mirror. The base is equipped with a DVD player therein, and the main body is supported on the base and has a projection lens for projecting an image light beam. The reflective mirror is disposed outside the base and has a reflecting surface facing the projection lens. After the projection apparatus is hung on the wall, the image light beam projected from the projection lens goes through the planar or the curved reflective surface in front of the projection lens for a reflective effect. The light beam is bent, zoomed or corrected its distortion, and then the corrected image picture is displayed on the screen for saving the projector configuration space, increasing the zooming amplification, correcting the image distortion, as well as simplifying the wiring configuration.
