  • Patent number: 12270362
Abstract: A vehicle system, includes an air intake assembly including an inlet through which air flows, a filter downstream of the inlet, and an outlet downstream of the filter through which air from the filter flows, a liquid source, a valve, a temperature indicator and a controller. The valve is electrically actuated and arranged to selectively permit liquid flow from the liquid source to the air intake assembly. The temperature indicator provides an indication of a temperature in the air intake assembly upstream of the filter. And the controller is communicated with the temperature indicator and the valve and operable to open the valve when the output of the temperature indicator indicates a temperature above a temperature threshold.

  • Publication number: 20250070301
Abstract: A vehicle active ram air system has a pan secured to the vehicle to direct an air flow. A battery wrap is positioned adjacent the pan to receive the air flow. A movable door is positioned to enable the air flow to pass into the battery wrap when the door is open. The door opens and closes based on a desired cooling air flow demand. An outlet enables the air flow to exit the battery wrap.

  • Publication number: 20250070302
Abstract: A vehicle having an exhaust pipe and a battery pack including a plurality of battery cells stored in a housing having at least one vent that is configured to discharge battery exhaust gases generated by the plurality of battery cells to the exhaust pipe. A heat exchanger is configured to cool the plurality of battery cells using a coolant that flows between the heat exchanger and the battery pack through a battery pack cooling loop. A coolant jacket surrounds a section of the exhaust pipe that is in communication with the heat exchanger and configured to cool the battery exhaust gases in the exhaust pipe using the coolant that flows between the heat exchanger and the coolant jacket through a battery exhaust gas cooling loop. A three-way valve controls flow of the coolant between the battery pack cooling loop and the battery exhaust gas cooling loop.

  • Publication number: 20250070303
Abstract: A battery high density cooling jacket has a battery pack including a housing and at least one battery cell. The battery housing includes an air inlet passage and an air outlet passage enabling an air flow to pass over the at least one battery cell. A cooling jacket cover housing. The cooling jacket housing has an inlet and an outlet. A movable door is positioned adjacent the inlet to enable the air flow into the cooling jacket cover when the door is open. The door opens and closes based on a cooling air flow demand. The air flow passes along the exterior of the battery housing and along an interior of the battery housing.

  • Publication number: 20240191765
Abstract: A vehicle includes a wheel, a brake assembly, a conditioned air source and an air circuit. The brake assembly has a portion selectively engageable with the wheel to reduce the rate of rotation of the wheel or stop rotation of the wheel. The conditioned air source provides an output air flow to the air circuit. The air circuit includes a first outlet through which at least a portion of the output air flow is directed toward at least part of the brake assembly under at least some conditions of vehicle operation. Accordingly, a flow of conditioned air, which may be heated or cooled relative to ambient air, may be provided to the brake assembly.
