The method may include pairing the mobile device with the personal area network system and receiving a telephone call at the mobile device. The method may also include capturing audio data from one or more microphones of the mobile device. The method may also include determining a distance between the mobile device and the personal area network system based on the captured audio data, and forwarding telephone call data to the personal area network system when the determined distance is below a threshold.
