  • Publication number: 20040100182
Abstract: The invention proposes a dielectric barrier discharge lamp having a phosphor mixture and the use of a dielectric barrier discharge lamp with a color temperature of at least 10,000 K for viewing X-rays. The phosphor mixture consists of the phosphor components R: europium-activated yttrium gadolinium borate ([Y, Gd]BO3:Eu),G: terbium-activated lanthanum phosphate (LaPO4: [Tb]) or cerium- and terbium-activated lanthanum phosphate (LaPO4:[Ce,Tb]) and B: europium-activated barium magnesium aluminate (BaMgAl10O17:Eu). The following applies to the proportions by weight in the mixture: 0.05≦R≦0.15, 0.50≦G≦0.70, 0.20≦B≦0.40 and R+G+B=1.

  • Patent number: 6734841
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved color display with temporary sequential primary color mixing, in the case of which a discharge lamp for dielectrically impeded discharges is used for backlighting.

  • Publication number: 20040061420
Abstract: The invention relates to a preferably large-format image display device that is constructed from a plurality of individual silent gas discharge lamps.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: April 1, 2004
    Inventors: Udo Custodis, Michael Seibold
  • Patent number: 6696781
Abstract: A silent discharge lamp which comprises a discharge vessel filled with a gas fill, a plurality of electrodes divided into separately operable groups, a dielectric layer between at least one anode part of the electrodes and the gas fill, and a luminescent layer which has elementary luminescent surfaces of at least two respective luminescent colors. Each elementary luminescent surface is assigned to a different electrode group. The electrode groups and the elementary luminescent surfaces are in each case two-dimensionally interleaved relative to one another so that the light emission surface of the gas discharge lamp can essentially be lit using each electrode group on its own, and the gas discharge lamp is designed so that it is possible to control the color of the light emission by controlling simultaneous operation of the electrode groups.

    Inventors: Udo Custodis, Angela Eberhardt
  • Patent number: 6679617
Abstract: A flat lighting device (1) has two mutually opposite, at least partially transparent view surfaces in such a way that light from a light source, for example daylight or ambient light, backlighting the lighting device can pass through the transparent part (4) of the view surfaces. Moreover, the lighting device has at least one integrated light source, the, or each, light source being arranged in such a way that during operation a corresponding luminous area (2) inside at least one of the two view surfaces is formed by the, or each, light source.

  • Patent number: 6630769
Abstract: A flat illumination device (1), includes a base plate and a front plate which are connected to form an at least partially transparent vessel which, in its interior, has an ionizable fill. In a partial region of the vessel, at least one of the two plates is at least in part provided with a mirror surface. An unmirrored partial region (12) of the vessel is designed to realize an illumination function.
