Patent number: 11020784Abstract: A method for producing a molded body of particularly steel, and including a hub and a bell-shaped lower part axially connected thereto, in which an inner contour is made in the lower part by non-cutting forming in a convex region. The inner contour includes of ball tracks and cage paths that are concave in the axial direction and arranged in a peripherally alternating manner, for receiving rolling bodies, the cage paths being shallower than the ball tracks. The hub is formed from a rotating round blank and reducing the thickness thereof using at least one pressure roller. The flat region of the round blank that radially connects to the hub is pressed onto contour segments of a rotating first inner contour tool, partially forming the inner contour using at least one axially and radially moving pressure roller to form a preform of the lower part. The fixed preform is pressed against contour segments of a second inner contour tool by a die of partial dies, fully forming the cage paths and ball tracks.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2017Date of Patent: June 1, 2021Assignees: WF-MASCHINENBAU U. Patent number: 8042879Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle wheel, in particular a hybrid vehicle wheel, composed of a wheel disc, which is fabricated from lightweight metal as a cast part, and a rim ring, which is made from steel, is connected to the wheel disc in a rotationally fixed fashion and has at least one rim horn and a drop base edge, and a method for manufacturing such a hybrid vehicle wheel. In order to be able to manufacture the hybrid vehicle wheel at low cost and to ensure sufficient force flow between the rim ring and the wheel disc, the wheel disc has, on the disc edge, a contour which is matched to the profile of the rim horn and drop base edge and extends over the distance between them and on which the rim ring bears in the mounted state of the wheel disc and rim ring while clamping the wheel disc between a first pressure zone on the drop base edge and a second pressure zone on the rim horn. Fitting is carried out by folding over or rolling over a rim ring blank onto the edge of the disc.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2007Date of Patent: October 25, 2011Assignee: Hayes Lemmerz Holding GmbHInventors: Werner Kermelk, Umberto Afeltra, Udo Friese, Peter Reh

Patent number: 6868606Abstract: In a method of making a rotation-symmetrical gear member, an outer edge of a circular blank is shaped to form a concentric thickened area which extends in axial direction to thereby realize a ring structure. A remaining area of the circular blank is then shaped into a cap-like structure through application of compressive forces by means of a pressure roller such that the ring structure adjoins a sidewall of the cap structure and projects outwardly in radial direction. The ring is then formed with outer teeth in opposition to the sidewall.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2002Date of Patent: March 22, 2005Assignee: WF-Maschinenbau und Blechformtechnik GmbH & Co. Publication number: 20030009884Abstract: The invention relates to a method for non-cutting production of a component, especially a component of a gearbox. Said component comprises a hub (15). The hub (15) is provided with a stepped hole (15) and is produced by cold deformation in a pressing process. A hub (15) extending in a substantially radial manner with respect to the plane of a round metal blank is produced from a rotating round metal blank (1), using at least one rotating pressing cylinder (11). The invention is characterized in that the pressure cylinder (11) is advanced into the round metal blank (1) at least periodically and in sections, whereupon it is inserted therein in a radial manner from an outer position to an inner position. A material web (15) forming the stepped hole (17) and extending substantially inwards from the hub (15) is embodied on the inner periphery of the hub (15), characterized in that when the hub (15) is deformed, at least one section of an attachment (7) is arranged at a distance from the round metal blank (1).Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2002Publication date: January 16, 2003Inventor: Udo Friese

Patent number: 6470724Abstract: A tool for producing a gear part having external toothing using a method of shaping by compression or by rolling. Said tool comprises a receiving tool for supporting the work piece which is impinged upon by a projection. Said receiving tool is driven to perform a rotational movement. The tool includes a roller pivotal about an axis (Y) that is parallel to the axis (X) of the rotating receiving tool which hold the work piece. The roller can be adjusted in the direction of its Y axis in relation to the work piece. It is subdivided in the direction of its Y axis in order to carry out the compression method. The tooth height of the individual shaping areas increases while the crown circle remains the same across all shaping areas. The root radius of the individual shaping areas decreases and the tooth depth increases from one shaping area to the next shaping area. As a result, the tooth thickness at the root circle increases in all of the shaping areas.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2001Date of Patent: October 29, 2002Assignee: WF-Maschincnbau und Blechformtechnik GmbH & Co.KGInventor: Udo Friese

Patent number: 6161409Abstract: A process is disclosed for manufacturing a gear part with outer teeth from a metallic workpiece shaped as a circular blank or predrawing. The gear part has a hub surface with outward projecting teeth. The workpiece is flattened in its circumferential area and the teeth are formed without cutting by a toothed roller (5) mounted in a freely rotary manner. While the teeth are formed by flattening the workpiece, the toothed roller (5) is fixed in the radial direction so as to not move towards the feeding axis of the spindle. The edge of a circular blank may be curled or thickened or the cylindrical edge of a potshaped predrawing may be collapsed.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1999Date of Patent: December 19, 2000Assignee: WF-Maschinebau und Blechformtechnik GmbH & Co.
