  • Patent number: 9539753
Abstract: The invention relates to a dirt precipitator (100) for a highly viscous medium, having a housing comprising a front housing element (30; 30?) that comprises at least one inlet channel (33) and a rear housing element (20) that comprises at least one outlet channel (23), and having a screen wheel (10; 10?) rotatably mounted between the housing elements (20, 30; 30?) having a number n of screen positions disposed in a ring zone, on each of which at least one screen opening (11.1, . . . , 11.12) having at least one screen insert element is provided. The inlet channel (33), the outlet channel (23), and the screen opening (11.1, . . . , 11.12) are disposed flush one after the other in at least one working position and form a flow channel. In all positions of the screen wheel (10; 10?), more than 50% of the screen openings (11.1, . . . , 11.12) are always able to be permeated, and are impinged by flow from at least one inlet channel and from which at least one outlet channel leads.

Abstract: A plate filtering device (10) for plastic melts has at least two stationary housing components (7, 9) with a movable plate (4) with a filter insert (5) disposed between them. A locking bushing (6) that extends up to the movable plate is placed at the downstream housing component (9), and its inner recess forms a part of the flow channel. A seal bushing (3) that can be pressed against the movable plate (4) and/or the filter insert (5) is located in movable fashion in the front housing component (7). A funnel area (3.2) is formed on the side facing away from the filter insert (5). A sealing ring (2) is located between the sealing bushing (3) and a retaining ring (1). The sealing ring exhibits at least one angled conical surface (2.1) and one face area (2.2) that is oriented at a right angle to the direction of fluid flow. At the seal bushing (3), an effective pressure area (3.1, 3.1?, 3.1?) that extends into the flow channel (8) is formed within the inner width of the sealing ring (2).

  • Publication number: 20050167876
Abstract: A process for granulating plastics having a plastic in a liquid bath of over 100° C. Wherein the liquid bath is a water bath and is in a pressurized-vessel pressure system. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 6422852
Abstract: A filter device for extruders and injection moulding machines designed to process thermoplastics, comprising filter elements that are fitted in at least two separate ducts of a housing between at least one main admission duct and one main exit duct and are interchangeably mounted in sieve carrier bolts in sieve openings that can be moved inwards and outwards with said sieve carrier bolts in the respective bore hole of the housing. At least one locking mechanism is provided in the vicinity of the main admission duct upstream from the sieve carrier bolts. When in a flow position, the locking mechanism does not impede the flow of plastic from the main admission duct to the filter elements.

  • Patent number: 5125823
Abstract: Apparatus for filtering plasticized material between two discrete inlets and a main outlet of a housing has two passages each of which connects one of the inlets with the main outlet. Each passage receives a reciprocable cylindrical filter carrier which can establish or interrupt a path for the flow of plasticized material from the respective inlet to the main outlet, depending on the selected axial position of the carrier. In order to expel contaminants which gather at the upstream side of the filter in a carrier, the carrier which is to be relieved of contaminants is moved to an axial position in which the respective inlet is sealed and the space at the downstream side of the filter receives filtered plasticized material substantially centrally of the filter. Contaminants are expelled from the space at the upstream side of the filter by way of a second outlet which is provided in the housing and communicates with the filter chamber of the carrier which is in the process of being relieved of contaminants.

  • Patent number: 5122286
Abstract: A filter changing apparatus for use with an extruder for plasticized synthetic plastic material has a housing with one or more bores for reciprocable cylindrical carriers of tubular filters. Each carrier is movable between at least one first position in which a stream of plastic material can flow from an inlet of the housing, axially into one end of the filter, radially outwardly from the filter and into an outlet of the housing, and at least one second position in which the carrier seals the inlet from the outlet or permits expulsion of contaminants and plastic material from the filter in a direction toward the inlet or into a second outlet of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4725215
Abstract: An extruder wherein the housing which defines a passage for the flow of foamed plastic material at elevated pressure and temperature to the shaping station contains a reciprocable carrier of one or more filters. The carrier has a filter compartment and is movable relative to the housing between a first position wherein the plastic material must flow from the inlet of the passage, through the compartment and the filter therein, and on to the outlet of the passage, and a second position in which the compartment is sealed from the passage. An expansion chamber in the housing and/or in the carrier communicates or can be caused to communicate with the compartment in the second position of the carrier so as to allow for a controlled reduction of pressure of plastic material before the compartment is made accessible for removal of inspection of the filter in the compartment. The compartment is thereupon rendered accessible, either in the second position of the carrier or by moving the carrier to a further position.
