  • Patent number: 5579788
Abstract: In an apparatus for the surface treatment of material to be treated by means of a treatment liquid, in particular a band pickling plant, with a vessel (1) receiving the treatment liquid (F), through which the material (S) to be treated can be conveyed, with a lid (2) with which the vessel (1) can be tightly sealed, with an inlet and outlet opening (4, 5) through which the material (S) to be treated enters into and exits from the vessel (1), and with suction openings (9a, 11a) through which the evaporated treatment liquid (F) can be sucked off from the vessel (1), the quantity of the gas to be discharged is reduced in accordance with the invention and, simultaneously, the danger of damaging the material (S) to be treated is reduced without impairing the performance of the apparatus in such a way that in the zone of the inlet and outlet opening (4, 5) of the vessel (1) one inlet chamber and one outlet chamber (9, 11) are separated from the inner space (8) of the vessel (1) by at least one shut-off partition (7,

  • Patent number: 5484513
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and apparatus for producing a rough and hard generated surface on a cylindrical body of rotation, more particularly a roll for metal strips. To rapidly obtain as uniform a surface roughness as possible, the body of rotation (2), acting as a cathode, is immersed over its whole length into an electrolyte (1) in a tank (3) only to such an extent that the immersed peripheral portion is narrower by a multiple than a plate-shaped anode (5) disposed opposite the body of rotation and extending over its whole length. The electrolyte can contain a substance suitable as a finishing deposit on the generated surface.

  • Patent number: 5402355
Abstract: The instant invention relates to a process and to devices to convey textile goods from a receiving point to a point of deposit as well as for reception and deposit of the goods by means of a traveling vehicle. The goods to be conveyed are readied at the receiving points and are entered by a central computer. A conveying command is then elaborated by the central computer and is transmitted to a computing unit of the vehicle. The conveying vehicle is equipped with equipment for the autonomous and active execution of the conveying command. Upon completion of the conveying command, the vehicle reports back to the central computer. The conveyed goods are deposited in a sorted state.

  • Patent number: 4505050
Abstract: In an apparatus capable of drying metallic belts or strands of varying widths, a hot air blowing system is arranged such that the effective width of the hot-air flow is selectively adjusted according to the width of each belt intended to be dried. The otherwise present but now excess hot air produced when narrower belt widths are dried is then directed to the suction or inlet side of the air blower to thereby recover otherwise lost heated air. This recycled heated air is redirected back to the air blower to thereby conserve energy at the heat exchanger which is used to heat the air. The quantity of hot air passing per unit time corresponding to a decreased belt width may also be adjusted by means of a valve of the blower system, thereby lowering the heating energy needed to be supplied to the heat exchanger.
