  • Patent number: 5357667
Abstract: A process for producing sheet-metal jackets, especially for pallet containers with an inner container of a synthetic resin, wherein a rectangular cut-to-size sheet-metal blank, the narrow sides of which are folded over into rims, is bent into a tubular member (15), and the rims (11a, 12a) of the tubular member (15) are hooked together. From the interlocked rims (11a, 12a), a series of spaced-apart connecting straps (16) is shaped by cutting and embossing toward the outside in a series parallel to the rims (11a, 12a) while leaving undeformed the rims between the spaced-apart portions. The rims (11a, 12a) are locked with respect to each other by a wire (17) pulled through the connecting straps (16), and the thusproduced tubular member (15) is shaped on a stretching press into a sheet-metal jacket.

  • Patent number: 5316174
Abstract: Pallet container for liquids, with an inner container of a synthetic resin with sealable filling and discharge openings and with an outer jacket of metal in contact with the inner container as well as with a bottom fashioned as a pallet. The pallet (9) shape-matingly receives the inner container (2) and is attachable to a jacket (6). The bottom (11) of the inner container (2) provides a drainage floor with a central shallow drainage channel (12) extending with a slight slope from a container rear wall (2c) toward a discharge nipple (13) located on the front wall (2d) of the container (2) for the connection of a drainage valve (5). A floor pan (10) below the drainage bottom (11) of the inner container (2) has reinforcing creases (16a, 16b), the bases (17) of which lie in a common horizontal plane (18--18) and form downwardly open chambers (19) in the floor pan (10). • Patent number: 5205885
Abstract: A process for the production of tighthead drums having dimensional stability of the injection molded lids and blow molded drum bodies, comprises blow molding double drum bodies from plastic and centrally separating them into two drum bodies. Tighthead lids are produced by injection molding from plastic. The tighthead lids are then welded to the drum bodies. Widemouth drums are also produced by blow molding double drum bodies from plastic and centrally separating them into two drum bodies, but with a molded-on edge at a distance under the drum opening. Drum lids are injected molded from plastic with an outside flange molded-on the lower lid edge. A sealant of plastic is injected into the lids and the lids are positioned on the drum bodies sealed with a clamping ring.

  • Patent number: 4909387
Abstract: The pallet container comprises a wooden pallet or a steel pipe pallet, on which is mounted an inner container of a synthetic resin with a jacket of vertical and horizontal lattice bars (4, 5) of steel pipe, these bars forming continuous inner and outer tangential planes; (20-20, 25-25). At the points of intersection (15), the lattice bars are drawn in to form trough-like indentations. This configuration has the result that, at each point of intersection (15), four contact points (22) disposed in one plane (21-21) are produced with an accumulation of material in each case corresponding to four times the wall thickness of the lattice bars. The lattice bars (4, 5) are joined together at the points of intersection (15) in the zone of the contact points (22) by electric resistance welding. The pallet container is usable as a safely operating multiple-trip container for liquid merchandise of all kinds.

  • Patent number: 4878448
Abstract: Wishbone boom mounting for sailboards with a wishbone head section of a synthetic resin, integrally molded onto a curved pipe section of aluminum or synthetic resin for attaching the two spars of a wishbone boom, and a jacket section accommodating the curved pipe section. A collar is connected to the jacket section by at least one web and is placeable on the mast. A locking element is articulated to this collar and receives the mast. A quick-action closure closes and opens the locking element in order to mount the head section to the mast or to detach the head section from the mast. A hinged cover (10) is molded onto the collar (6) of the wishbone head section (1) by a thin flexible hinge (11) and is curved to match the mast (5). A clamping lever (12) is articulated to the collar (6) for tightening and releasing a rope piece (13) forming a loop (14), one end of this rope piece being attached to the clamping lever (12) and the other end to the collar (6) in the region of the thin flexible hinge (11).

  • Patent number: 4776479
Abstract: In a spigoted barrel of a synthetic resin, welded together from two or more parts, with a sidewall section, a head section, and a lid section, exhibiting bungholes (e.g. 9) hidden in depressions, a barrier (13) is integrally molded to the inner surface (12) of each depression (e.g. 11) of the lid section (4), this barrier extending in an arcuate shape from the sidewall section (14) around the respective bunghole (9) and constituting a collecting pan for a residual content (16) of the barrel. Thereby, upon tilting of the barrel, complete emptying becomes possible. The barrier (13) is lower in the zone around the bunghole (9) than in the regions toward the sidewall section (14) so that the barrier (13) does not form a hindrance during cleaning of the barrel.

  • Patent number: 4500010
Abstract: The wide-necked barrel of a synthetic resin can be sealed by a lid exhibiting a bottom entering into the barrel neck by way of an inner rim, and an outer rim extending over the barrel neck and having a radial lid flange. The lid is sealed by a sealing ring inserted into the annular groove between the inner rim and the outer rim of the lid. The lid flange has on the underside alternatingly tongue-like extensions and recesses arranged with a specific pitch over the circumference of the lid. Annular flange segments integrally molded to the barrel neck engage into the flange recesses and complete the partial cross-sectional profile of the lid flange, formed in the zone of the recesses, to the full cross-sectional profile of the lid flange in the zone of the extensions. The clamping ring encompassing the lid flange and the annular flange segments is secured by means of clamping ridges integrally molded to the lid extensions and extending in the circumferential direction.

  • Patent number: 4286723
Abstract: A composite steel-jacketed plastic barrel has a cylindrical sheet steel shell with a lower sheet steel bottom flanged thereto, and a plastic lining which comprises the upper end of the barrel and has bungholes through that upper end. Both the upper end of the lining and the upper end of the shell have radially outwardly extending flanges thereon; and a detachable clamping ring releasably interconnects these flanges, so that either the steel component or the plastic component can be separately used or replaced. The construction permits saving of the plastic material of the lining, in that the thickness thereof decreases uniformly from top to bottom.
