Abstract: A method for depositing a topping on a horizontal section of a flat baked item along a production line improves the visual presentation of baked items. The device for decorating or depositing a topping onto the horizontal section is provided with an endless conveyor for transporting the baked item along the production line, at least one station for depositing at least one distribution component, and at least one following station for depositing at least one piece component, wherein the at least one station for depositing the at least one distribution component is provided with a guiding device that creates at least one non-covered area on the horizontal section during the deposit of the distribution component, and wherein the at least one station for depositing the at least one piece component includes a dispensing device for the targeted dispensing of the piece component onto the at least one non-covered area.

Abstract: A water-in-silicone oil transparent emulsion is made from a volatile polydimethylsiloxane (1 to 50% by weight), a silicone surfactant (0.1 to 20% by weight), at least one polyhydric alcohol (1 to 50% by weight) and water.The silicone surfactant comprises a polymer of dimethyl polysiloxane with polyoxyethylene and/or polyoxypropylene side chains having a molecular weight of from 10,000 to 50,000 and having the structure: ##STR1## a having a value of from 9 to 115, b having a value of from 0 to 50,x having a value of from 133 to 673,y having a value of from 25 to 0.25.

Abstract: An acid-soap complex comprises:(i) at least two 2-hydroxyalkanoic acid moieties of carbon chain length C.sub.m and C.sub.n respectively,where m and n have the same or different values, and each is an integer of from 6 to 28; and(ii) a cation;the complex having an elemental analysis of:(C.sub.m H.sub.2m-1/2 O.sub.3) (C.sub.n H.sub.2n-1/2 O.sub.3) Mwhere M is the cation.A process for preparing the complex and its use in compositions suitable for topical application to human skin, hair and nails is also claimed.
