  • Patent number: 7443109
Abstract: An arrangement for supplying a constant current to at least one LED includes a current source (2; 2a, 2b) with an output capacitor (3) connected across the terminals of the current source. An output inductor (4) is associated with the output capacitor (3) whereby the current supplied flows through the inductor (4). A smoothing resistor (5) is preferably connected in parallel to the output inductor (4).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 16, 2005
Date of Patent: October 28, 2008
Assignee: Patent-Treuhand-Gesellschaft für Elektrische Glühlampen mbH
Inventors: Paolo De Anna, Ugo Francescutti

  • Patent number: 6778373
Abstract: A rectifier circuit matched for power factor correction. A first diode (D1), a second diode (D2), a third diode (D3) and a fourth diode (D4) are in a bridge arrangement. A first pole (10) and a second pole (12) of the bridge arrangement are connected to a source (U) which has at least one AC voltage component. An inductance (L1) is arranged in series with the third pole (14) or the fourth pole (16) of the bridge arrangement. A capacitance (C1) is connected between the first pole (10) and the second pole (12), and two of the four diodes (D1, D2, D3, D4) are in the form of fast diodes.

  • Publication number: 20040114401
Abstract: Switched-mode power supply having a series circuit of an electronic switch (T1) and the primary winding (W1) of a transformer (TX1). The power supply also has a switching snubber device in which, when the electronic switch (T1) is switched off, the energy in the primary winding (W1) is stored in a capacitor (C1). According to the invention, the switching snubber device has a further electronic switch (D1, T2) which remains switched on until the energy stored in the capacitor (C1) is fed back again into the transformer (TX1).

  • Patent number: 6600667
Abstract: An electronic converter having an input circuit and an output circuit which, in addition to the converter function, carries out power-factor correction. A control circuit opens and closes an electronic switch as a function of the output voltage from the converter circuit and the voltage which is dropped across a current measurement sensor. The circuit has a logic ground LM and a power ground PM at different electrical potentials.

  • Publication number: 20020154521
Abstract: The present invention relates to electronic converters having an input circuit and an output circuit which, in addition to their converter function, carry out power-factor correction. They comprise a control circuit which opens and closes an electronic switch, to be precise as a function of the output voltage from the converter circuit and the voltage which is dropped across a current measurement sensor. The invention is distinguished in that the circuit has a logic ground LM and a power ground PM at different electrical potentials.
